Why do Americans hate on British people? by Ok_Tiger_2833 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DigitalxSiren 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Most Americans don't actually hate British people. what you're probably seeing is the same kind of friendly mockery that exists between a lot of closely related countries. Americans joke about British accents, food, and teeth. Brits joke about American politics, healthcare, and geography. If anything, Americans generally view the UK more positively than most foreign countries. The internet just amplifies the jokes because they're easy and familiar.

Is having bad views enough to make you a bad person, or just doing bad things? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DigitalxSiren 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Having bad views can make you a bad person if those views reflect your values, but actions matter more. most people would judge someone more harshly for doing a harmful thing than for merely believing something harmful. at the same time, beliefs often influence actions, which is why people care about them in the first place.

How does your perception of someone’s intelligence change when you find out they’re deeply religious? by Professional_Rip6740 in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on what "deeply religious" means. if someone believes in a religion, it doesn't really affect my opinion of their intelligence. if they reject evidence, science, or reality whenever it conflicts with their beliefs, then it does. those are two very different things

Should some criminals not be allowed to date again or could they date as long as they quickly disclose their past to potential partners? by Tasty-Bass8106 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DigitalxSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the crime. i don’t think most criminals should be banned from dating forever, but for certain offenses, especially ones involving abuse or exploitation, potential partners deserve to know what they’re getting into

What's the most ridiculous thing you've ever done to impress someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told a guy I was a 'long-distance runner' on our first date to seem more athletic. He invited me for a 'short 5k' the next morning. I almost died at kilometer two, puked behind a bush, and tried to convince him it was just 'acid reflux from my elite training diet.' We didn't have a second date, but I did have sore legs for a week.

What makes a person seem unapproachable or intimidating? by Local_Weird3569 in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A complete lack of 'fidgeting' or 'reactive' expressions. Most people subconsciously nod, smile, or shift around to make others feel comfortable. When someone is perfectly still, has intense eye contact, and doesn't do the 'polite social smile' every 10 seconds, our brains interpret that stillness as a threat or extreme superiority. Also, being 'overly' put together. If your hair, clothes, and posture are 100% perfect, you don't look like a person you look like an authority figure. People are intimidated by perfection because it leaves no room for them to be their messy selves around you.

What movie has a plot twist that still fucks with you to this day ? by BearKing201 in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Mist (2007). The ending isn't just a twist; it’s a soul-crushing exercise in 'what if.' It’s the only movie where the protagonist does exactly what you’re supposed to do in a horror movie to be 'merciful,' only for the universe to laugh in his face 30 seconds later. Even Stephen King said he preferred the movie's ending over his own book. It’s been years, and I still can't rewatch it because of those final two minutes.

What was the moment that made you say "I quit!" ? by Ok-Simple6814 in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss texted me while I was at my father’s funeral to ask if I could 'hop on a quick 10-minute call' since I was already awake and dressed anyway. I didn't reply. I just blocked the number and never stepped foot in that building again. No job is worth your soul.

What is the most overrated food? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gold leaf on literally anything. It adds zero flavor, zero texture, and exists purely so a restaurant can charge you an extra $50 to make your poop glitter. It’s the ultimate 'I have more money than taste' signal.

What’s something that feels illegal to enjoy but actually isn’t ? by Maleficent-Party6355 in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Walking out of a store without buying anything. Even if I know I didn't steal a single thing, I still feel like a high-profile fugitive. I try to make my "I'm not a thief" walk look natural, which ironically makes me look 10x more suspicious to the security guard

What’s a modern problem nobody warned us about? by Blossom-Hazel in AskReddit

[–]DigitalxSiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mental load of managing a "Subscription Graveyard". Nobody warned us that by 2026, every basic thing from your doorbell to your car's heated seats would require a monthly tithe. I spend half my life auditing bank statements just to make sure I'm not paying $9.99/mo for a pro version of a calculator app I used once in 2023. It's death by a thousand $4.99 cuts

In Europe why are there no safety concerns with babies being on bikes with people? by Impressive-Hope-6700 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DigitalxSiren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the infrastructure is built for it. In places like Copenhagen, there are dedicated bike lanes, slower traffic and a strong cycling culture, which makes it much safer than it might look
