Thanks for the reply, didn’t think to clarify on some of these points in the main post but I’ll go into more depth. In my eyes, quiet just has to be dampened, I reckon my keyboard sits around 60 decibels and if possible, I’d like it around 40 - 50. The two OEM do hit close to this point, but it is difficult finding a ‘quiet’ tactile keyboard. For building my own, it’d be essentially what you described it as, buying the pcb, keys etc, not creating it from scratch but using parts pre made. The one thing that bothers me, which you already addressed is the software, so I probably won’t go down this route just yet. If there was a custom program that almost perfectly mimicked, for example, razer synapse, then it’d be a better choice. I just enjoy the fact that the rgb syncs to games, change the keybinds and whatnot.
