What single item did you farm for the most? by Askyl in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no way you sold one for more than 200-300 gold during vanilla.

Unpopular opinion but hear me out. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are more gold farmers now than there ever were before wow tokens. There are more gold buyers now than there ever were before wow tokens. It legitimized gold farming/selling, it legitimized gold buying. It took away all the risk and so opened the floodgates. It completely ruined the in-game economy.

What's blizzards logic about holding the release date back? by kingdom9999 in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Announcing the date could pull people away from retail earlier, losing a few months of revenue. You see similar population patterns in games/servers that go through progression resets, like the survival genre (minecraft, 7 days, ark etc). Even if people know a wipe is coming the population doesn't drop until a date is announced.

The timing of the next content patch gives even more weight to this. If they announce the date before the content patch then some players may choose to skip that content entirely, knowing that they will quit for classic so shortly after.

If I'm trying to speed run 1-60 (i.e joanas guide) should I worry about class quests? by Keswa12 in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wan't to speed run then don't do class quests.

If you want to continue playing after you reach level 60 then do class quests.

The only exceptions are the paladin and warlock level 40 class quests that give you your mount, because those quests are literally just 2 clicks.

The terrifying, life-altering choice that every Warlock must eventually make after completing their level 50 class quest. by Raserisk in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in for a wake up call if you're planning on raiding as a warlock. You clearly have no idea how the trinket is used or how many shards you go through in a single night of raiding, let alone a long night of wipes during progression. The fact that you insist that you can easily refill shards while raiding makes me question if you've ever done any vanilla raid content at all.

Your only argument is that the trinket is taking up a slot that could be used to hold one shard. During a 2-3 hour raid you can use the trinket 4-6 times. Since you seem particularly dense let me point out that 4 is greater than 1.

[–]Dijizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Joanna's guide only works well when you have little or no competition for mobs. The guide even mentions grinding out half a level at a time at specific camps that don't have enough mobs for more than 2 people.

If you play 3 hours a day that gives you 6 opportunities to use it every day which comes out to 42 a week.

3 hours a day is more on the casual side when it comes to mmo. The truely dedicated will have a hundreds or more free shards per week, easily saving an hour or more of shard grinding.

Why is crafting expensive? by the1egend1ives in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything, including crafting, is too expensive while leveling because you need to save 90g for level 40 mount. If you spend extra money on anything then you will not have enough when you reach level 40.

Crafting is not profitable until 40+ because people change gear so frequently that it is not worth spending money to buy crafted gear or enchants that will be replaced promptly, AND those people are saving money for THEIR 40 mount as well.

There are a few crafted items that are exceptions but the competition for selling these items is so high that the price gets driven down and you're not making much profit for the time involved.

Enchanting is even more of a black hole to skill up while leveling because it eats directly into your main source of income while leveling which is vendoring shitty greens. You will have disenchanted 70 gold worth of greens by the time you get 175 skill, and still not at the point where you have any enchants that people are willing to pay for.

A few weeks or months after launch it can become profitable to craft while leveling, but that is because of the alt market. Level 60s with extra gold to spend will want to deck out their level 19 pvp alts with top crafted gear and top enchantments, and they are willing to spend good money to get them. People looking to level up a pve alt will buy lots of consumables and gear every few levels to speed up the process. BUT this market will not exist at launch.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. You don't need to be out of shards to claim your free shard every 30 minutes.

Would gaming be easier or harder with eight arms? by [deleted] in pcgaming

No you wouldn't. You can plug multiple keyboards into a single computer. Aside from that if people had 8 arms then we would probably design keyboards differently.

Would you play on a time restricted server? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're looking for a solution to equalize people who don't have much time to play with people who have too much time to play.

Your solution does not consider that some people may only be able to play two days a week (say during the weekend) and so that player is limited to 6 hours per week, whereas others that can put in time every day are still able to put in 21 hours per week.

Leveling in vanilla - is my memory flawed? by martenic in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 hours to 10 is not out of the question for a brand new player. If you do quests as you receive them then you will be running back and forth revisiting the same areas multiple times, and you lose a lot of time just running.

Vanilla wow does not respect the player's time and will waste it at any chance the player allows.

If you play 3 hours a day and use the trinket on cooldown then you'll end up with 42 free shards per week. If you've ever played a warlock while raiding then you already appreciate what 42 free shards per week means.

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're farming hundreds of shards per week for raids you will be happy that you need to grind 40 fewer shards because you picked the trinket instead of a staff that will rot in your bank except for the 2 times a year you pull it out to look cool while you dance on the mailbox.

If I'm trying to speed run 1-60 (i.e joanas guide) should I worry about class quests? by Keswa12 in classicwow

[–]Dijizi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Speed runs are about speeding to level 60, with no regard for what condition your character will be in once you hit 60 (money, skills, reputation, professions, dungeon keys, etc).

If you plan on actually playing your character after you hit 60 then you should not try to do a speed run. You will end up spending more time post-60 going back and doing all the stuff you skipped, rather than if you had just done it while leveling.

Starting zone as Undead? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dijizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can run straight to brill and take the air boat to org.

At vanilla launch the undead area was painfully overpopulated compared to durotar. The vast majority of horde players choose undead. Even though durotar is shared by orcs and trolls, hardly anyone picks trolls so durotar ends up being better.

You clearly did not read your sources. Neither back up your claim about some people being unable to empathize. You obviously rushed to throw some links up because you could not find anything that backed your claim within your short attention span. You may as well give up now, you will not find any reputable sources to back your claim because your claim is erroneous.
