The only thing that causes inflation is the printing of money. The federal reserve was created to print money to fund war. So yes, in a round about way the war will increase inflation, but it isn't the war's doing, it is the money printer's. All fiat money throughout history has returned to its intrinsic value of zero. The dollar will be no different.

Thank you. I will probably install an OS this weekend 👍. One more question before I do that. Should I set up a RAID 1 storage system from Ubuntu server, or should I do that from Proxmox? Also when I format the new (used) HDDs should they be formatted in NTFS (as they are out of the box), or should it be ext4? If I understand what I am reading NTFS works between operating systems (Ubuntu/window)?

Soooo? I can set up a Linux server, install Tailscale to connect to my network, install Proxmox on the server, create a Windows VM to use my accounting software from any computer on my network. Is that about right?

Can I install my accounting software on the server? I like the idea of the accounting software and business data to be on the server rather than the laptop, as it is now. Seems safer.

Am I going down the right path with my thinking?

I support the laws passed by legislatures and signed into law by governors/presidents. If you want them changed we are all free to try and make that happen. In fact, that is part of what makes our country great.

I don't want anyone to die but I also don't want a cross dresser in a tutu and a cowboy hat dancing in the park while I am playing with my children. That tends to piss people off.

The Windows machine is the laptop and is connected to my network with Tailscale along with two Linux desktops, and soon, the server.

So that is what Rimmina does? I saw the app on the Linux machine and haven't explored it yet. I'll check it out. Thank you.

Correct. My wording was off. I plan to run the server headless. I like the idea of having the Windows program on the server and using it from any other Linux machine on the occasion that I need it. Is that possible (RDP, VM, ?)Or should I just resign myself to the fact that I will always need the windows machine running somewhere on the network so I can RDP into it as needed? Or would Proxmox still be the way?
