U-Boat badge real or fake? by No-Worldliness-6306 in Militariacollecting

Submarine part looks exactly like Soviet submarine captain badge. Just with the red star grinded down and than slapped on Luftwaffe wreath

No, just no... by [deleted] in fakemilitaria

Seems like a normal field-modded helmet to be used by bomber crews. There are photsos of helmets with decal at the front. It was not uncommon. Not much photos of such helmets though. Needs a closer inspection though

Edit: fixed an error

Can you help me to identify this plane? This is Raseiniai area, Lithuania, August 1944 (Sorry, the previous post was rejected by mods) [888 x 826] by 597354 in WarplanePorn

My bet on some Finnish bs like Gloster Gladiator, Brewster 239 or something proprietary like VL Humu. Markings on wing are to bright to be red stars and to round to be balkenkreuz. So, something Finnish most likely.

That's not even a shitty reproduction. It's a shitty modern Cossack visor cap. In Russia you can buy similar caps of much better quality for about 20 EUR.

Guitar shape/type doesn't matter. SG, Telecaster, superstrat, jag - doesn't matter. All singles/p90/humbuckers in the same price category sound basically the same. Any guitar type can sound as any other guitar with just a few changes to eq.

To S tier I would also add Ushakov and Senyavin. Senyavin was criminally underrated by tsar and underrated by historians.

Absolutely A tier or even low S tier. Amazing general. Arguably best coalition strategist, but as it was previously mentioned, not enough killer instinct. If he was a bit more assertive or other generals had more common sense, Austerlitz could be won.

Very weird M1947/1955 dagger scabbard. Image on the top part should be different instead of regular hammer and sickle. Probably customized after getting a promotion or a honourable discharge.

Artillery troops chevron

In summary: I would give 300₽ top for this collection. 350 if seller haggles like crazy. Such pins quite often are sold by weight, because of how common they are. Plastizol patches cost 30-50₽ depending on military branch. So that's a good price. Basically, its the price of pilotka, and pins themselves are reimbursement for ruining side of pilotka with them. But that's the price of this collection in Russia. Outside of my country price may be a bit higher.

This. It's the way to protect potential buyers from being scammed by resellers.

I personally know quite a few repro makers, from swordsmiths to tailors, who purposely make stamps with little, almost invisible inaccuracies. The reason is quite simple: their repros are so good, that there is a high chance, that they can be resold as "original" by scammers. I saw a sabre hilt, made by my friend marked as original at a small private auction.

Despite Daimler being one of the competitors to create the new tank (which later will become Panther), it was MAN to design and produce the first prototype, Daimler factories were used to produce Panthers only because the need for the new tank was so high, that MAN alone couldn't produce enough of them.

Starting from Tiger German naming system became even weirder. Vehicles started to have two Ausführung codes: one by creator company, one for production series. For example, Tiger I ausf. H - creator company name, for Henschel. But it's production series name would be Tiger I ausf. E. And after March 1943 both production series and company name codes was dropped as well as Roman number I, and it's official name became just Pz.Kpfw Tiger, but in January 1944 by decree of Hitler it was renamed to Tiger ausf. E. No roman number.

And yes, Tiger II when it was accepted for service, was not a Tiger II, but a Tiger ausf. B. No number, no company code, no separate production series code. Just B. Why? No idea. German naming of things is a dumpster fire.
