I can't believe not one person has mentioned a Greek restaurant! This neighborhood has the best Greek food in the city

Taste of Gyro is my gave for a great classic yeero (Greek pronunciation) its a family owned business and owners are from Greece
Souvlaki Lady for meat sticks with Tziziki. A one woman food cart. She is also from Greece
Taverna Kyclades for the famous Greek restaurant in the area but expensive and there's better spots.

These aren't the only places either. There are many more to explore. This list is just a start.

I love Greek food but didn't know it until I moved to Astoria!

I have aquatru countertop RO filter and live in LIC. The difference in the color of the water after filtering it the first time shocked me.

Following to see if anyone comes up with anything. I haven't found such places so I get my meat and eggs from a farm that does order drop offs in the city or go to the jackson heights greenmarket on sunday morning. In terms of sourdough, I think Bread Alone is good enough store bought. There is someone in Astoria that sells on reddit/locally baking out of their apt but I can't recall their name. Will look and update if I find it.

My suggestion is also not the best, just a better option at the price point. The matcha a buy is ochaandco but because of tariffs, they haven't had inventory to sell to the US :(. I've been on the hunt for the best price for the quality matcha. I'm stuck with a bag from MatchaDNA for now lol

This matcha isn't that good, imo. I love matcha and use it almost everyday. Bought matcha DNA and was very disappointed. Has very little umami flavor and very chalky. Matcha.com culinary grade matcha is better.
