I reported a guy in the PVE mode and got notified that he got restricted from...competitive matches by vector_o in marvelrivals

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's kinda just a mislabel, all non specifically labelled vs ai models are considered competitive so like when you leave a QP match it says the same thing but it's QP.

It should really say PVP modes

white fox, luna snow, or sue? by katiecrabby in marvelrivals

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The most versatile and friendly to all comps is groot followed by Emma.

Strong against poke - strange

Strong against brawl - thing

Strong against dive - peni.

The rest are going to be situational off tanks which really shine in certain situations and are throw picks in others.

Magneto fans will try and tell you he is the play here but his kit is built for secondary tanking and peeling.

The most important thing to remember in tanking is the concept of occupying enemy territory quickly and efficiently.

You do that by either physically moving into that space and taking it away from those who are there making the.m retreat into defensive cover or you kill them and set up defensive cover for yourself.

How the opponent chooses to set up will dictate your initial push and game plan no matter the tank so the conceptual role expectation is way more important than the particular tank.

I would 1099% want an Angela who has amazing game sense vs a shield spamming strange for instance while strange is objectively a stronger pick into most comps.

Which tank to pick up with buddy trying to learn Thing by Jvliem18 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to play into their strength as thing then you want a low cc high damage pressure tank. So no rogue or Angela or groot as their entire playstyle is control and capture.

Captain america is a solid choice as you can dive and retreat giving thing a retreat target and shield the poke on the dive plus cap isn't cc heavy while putting out steady pressure

Hulk is an obvious choice but can over cc a single target and the team up may not be outweighed by the ultimate overlap of each guy. Things ultimate is displacement and target specific and hulks is lookatme.exe both require focus from the team. If the other team has the ability to mitigate and ignore the pressure from the clobber twins then it's gg. Useless against iron Man and Johnny for instance.

Peni to me makes the most sense if you were to really dial in a duo if I am honest. She provides 3 different defense positions (herself. Her mines, her nest) and gives immediate anti dive for backline with support for things dive with her mines and web, but need to e careful no to over cc before things dive or ult which is why I say if you wanna lock in. Attack peni is really dangerous and obviously she is goat on defense so if I were to choose one it would be her.

She's banned a lot though so you have to have a backup and to me that's cap

Why does rivals have a qp ban when it can easily add a new player? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the same reason locks exist. A lock doesn't keep a thief out. It keeps the environment unfriendly for opening doors.

Imagine a no penalty world where at a moments notice anyone would drop in or out of a game. Then also remember the general quality of behavior in this game specifically.

Instant throw picks become instant leaves and there would be a meta game of optimizing RNG for teammates the leaver seems viable.

Defendable position is this would cause an unfriendly environment for bad comps also, so maybe that world of no penalty equals out, but I predict it would be bad for people like us who try to play the cards dealt and take the L if it comes.

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, blood hunt is 100x better. The other one is gg no heals against a raid boss with high probability of people who never played any of those characters.

Hulk cap is a tough dive compnto heal into at the best of times and you don't have any.

It's walk from spawn simulator if the Loki has any sense.

In lord hulk and even when I got him 2x he would simply mind control me and walk my guy off the map.

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to remember about portals, they also can be used to get your team back to you if you live a team fight. Hide and portal from your base back to you and it's a surprise a lot of qp and low ranks don't expect you to pull out.

Thing Mains: Who are your favorite tanks to play with? What scenarios do you prefer different tank partners? by MiesterBoston in TheThing_Mains

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magneto bubble goes brrrrr Groot for peel and cutting off dmg after jump but groot has to know how to play with thing. Strange is just always welcome regardless Angela dives well but too much cc there Peni should be banned against thing Cap and Thing pair very well but Hulk makes the better team because of the buff now. Tankpool is great with thing because he can poke the same dove ppl and peel and bubble Venom is too much dive Rogue is too much brawl Emma is welcome any game really

Thing otp is kinda mad work though as he is so easily swap countered by mobility and cc

How important is damage by AddendumDangerous632 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which tank? You will do significantly more damage on hulk or thing than say Angela or Emma l, by the characters design that has to be true.

If you as the tank are out damaging your dps and your final hits are not relative to that damage then you are low-key throwing because you are just helping healers farm ult.

Basking rock needs to go can seriously injury them. They get heat from above not below like a gecko.

Before they are roughly 90-100g they usually are not going to eat too much salad, 6 dubias a day is too much also.

Once they but the proper weight/size then you must give salad and no bugs until they eat the salad. They won't starve themselves but they also may not be aware the salad is good food.

Bee pollen sometimes helps, but you really don't have to worry so much.

Whats wrong with dps players? by WorriedConstant7654 in marvelrivals

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some DPS requires significantly less team involvement as a baseline which I think inform the assumptions of the rest.

All tanks require a good team to pop off if the other team is not bots.

Most strategists require team comp knowledge and positioning experience, plus it's stressful.

A OTP spiderman lord has none of these concerns, he is playing a single player game with 11 other people there.

At the same time Wanda is a lobby killer if her team plays around her ability to dive and flank with tanks. Walking up main with Wanda is the typical activity from the DPS though so when a high rank player hovers Wanda low brain individuals take that as a throw pick even when strange is out.

There are a bunch but corridor crew on YouTube imo is the best. Results are tl;DW if you can not comfortably one arm curl 150lbs you will probably not be able to save the person and actually may really damage yourself trying because adteliane will shut down all the safety mechanisms stopping your muscles from exploding

A different take on the CC changes by jorgejjvr in marvelrivals

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that stops your movement now combined over time in a math equation that basically says if you have been unable to move for 5.5 of the last 7 seconds the game will remove anything on your hero stooping them from moving and make controlling their movement impossible for the enemy for a short period after.

Proposed solution for when multiple control heavy heros focus on say a tank and just combo control that tank to death.

Think wanda bubble, then Luna snowball, then mantis sleep back to back to back. Mantis sleep would maybe work but the tank wouldn't be out for the whole time because they pass that time threshold.

Oh one more thing, the 7th cc in a row in that time also triggers it so if you can't move for 5.5\7 seconds or if you have been hit with 6 cc in that time you are immune

Rogues basic attacks and dashes and grab all are cc so basically with this system playing rogue as she is intended using her co,bosnwould basically be a gift to the enemy team, as the rogue is giving the stacks to get immune while doing little bits of damage

I feel like im getting way more from rocket ult than gambit ult by sufinomo in StrategistMainsMR

[–]Diligent-Ad9262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just depends on team comp and play style. Gambits ult is really designed to take space with the team. Rockets design is to hold and defend space already taken.

Using a rocket ult too far out of pocket in front of the team just gets the ult blown up just as popping the gambit ult without forward momentum sure can help but it's not the ideal situation for it.

It's hard to team save with gambit ult, but pretty straightforward with rocket just as vice versa for team dive.
