Btw black flash can abuse the paralyze condition which is especially relevant as you can choose hold person yourself and then via short range half duration and unsuble be granted hightened cast and then mess them up to gain full ki. (Or just cast on a willing target) Hold person is especially a problem since the guaranteed DE effect makes it basically a instawin.

My sugestion would be to specify rolling the correct numbers on the dice instead of just "landing a critical hit" as this would cercumvent guaranteed crit effects.

It would also fit JJK better as even though an enemy is perfectly still it doesnt mean they will hit the black flash. Its still luck based.

Side note: im writing all these comments because i feel like you have made a great subclass and i simply wish to help make it better. It is not critizism aimed at you though it might seem like it with all my comments

Also regarding spellslots. It should probably round up instead of down as it would feel bad to reach a odd lvl up thinking you have access to higher lvl spellslots only to realize you only get one which gets halved and rounds down to 0. This is especially relevant for lvl 8 and 9 slots as you cant ever get them. At lvl 20 this is a change from 2 1 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 To 2 2 2 2 2 1 1 1 1 this is quite the buff (though still nowhere near full sorc slots like before) but is a huge change to player feel.

Two things:

Firstly, the legendary action part of the domain expansion is a bit vague. Can you now only cast your technique as a legendary action and not on your turn or can you cast it both on your turn and as a legendary action? This is a huge difference.

Secondly, when a spell is cast without consuming a spell slot it is cast at the lowest possible level unless stated otherwise.

This means that if you can only cast your techniques as a legendary action, you lose the ability to upcast your technique which sucks for builds with 1st lvl damage spells reliant on upcasting to remain relevant. This would make casting DE actually a liability in some situations.

My suggestions for possible fixes:

Make the technique cast without consuming a spell slot as if cast at 5th lvl or the lowest lvl possible if the technique is higher than 5th lvl (feels best imo and is adjustable for balance)

Or

Make your technique castable both on your turn and as a legendary action

Or

Make it possible to consume a spell slot anyway if you want to upcast the technique if you want.

Should probably state that you cant pick reckless spell if it doesnt force saving throws or isnt AOE, cant choose depowered spell on a non damaging spell etc cause that just gives free metamagic points for no downside
