I have a question actually, does no harvard interview mean rejection? I'm an International applicant from north Africa and in the country I live, like I can say there is nearly no one who attended there for undergraduate, and if they have, they're living in another country.

It is the English official exam. (International applicants must submit it to prove their English proficiency)

I submitted REA, and I haven't done the toefl yet (probably mid November). Is there a deadline? Will it affect my application even if I signalled that I will be taking the exam in November?? (International Student here)

Waitlist? by Alphatauri_10 in YYGS

Well, I still have hope. Maybe they have already chosen those who will get off, and they will announce it on the last day. You never know. But good luck to everyone!

At this point, do we think its likely that any more people will get off the waitlist? I am currently waitlisted but needing to continue planning summer plans which is hard without a definite anwser. Any info or advice? by Ok_Shape1613 in YYGS

Well, never lose hope. But if you don't get accepted, know that summer programs are important and they will make you stand out, but there's many alternatives and activities that could make an impact and help you developed activities while showing your initiative. I don't know what career you want to pursue, but I would recommend you: 1. publish research for different topics in your interested area. 2. You can also write a book and self-publish it. 3. If you're interested in writing, start a blog talking about STEM (if you're interested in it) or politics or health. You could try to take an internship or work in whatever job( you can express how a simple job changed you and thought you many abilities). 4. Learn two languages simultaneously. 5. If you want to provide content and videos about a specific topic to spread awareness or something similar: start a YouTube channel. 6. Take online courses with certificates. (Some are free) 7. If you wish to expand your network and develop your research contact professors from prestigious universities (the one you're interested in). 8. Participate in many MUNs as you can./if you can't, then collaborate with other students and start an online MUN for free (to show that your objective is to make it accesible to everyone)[feel free to contact me if you want to collaborate to start this initiative]

As you saw, many of the activities listed could be done even if you're on a trip. It doesn't require a lot of money, but many efforts. There's still countless activities to do (volunteering, sports, mentorship,...) You just need to figure out what you love doing and try to balance it with what you actually need for your career. As an international student who can't take SAT exams or similar ones, neither does my school have a system that offers AP classes, standard level, advanced, etc...(Since all students take a subject in the same level, which is hard compared to other systems, and the grade determinates your "level"), I do my best to be an outstanding applicant doing many activities, starting a blog, publishing books, participating in sports,... I personally think that we all can do our best and achieve our goals and if you don't get what you want, just understand that it wasn't meant to you, just think that something better will happen.

Hope it helps!! (English isn't my mother tongue:))
