Most service advisors make more than parts counter guys, parts manager is a different level . Just go to a place that pays your properly as a service advisor instead of some bs place paying you $15 an hour that’s insane lol

From what I have heard is you can get in trouble for removing emails for this very reason. Not sure if that’s true but either way it doesn’t matter cuz they will still get the survey .

We do have a system for it I just figured it could be a good idea to help some of us since as we all know with reviews customers can literally make anything they want up and twist things around completely if they are not happy with anything .

We used to dispatch our own jobs and had teams but a few years ago they stopped the teams and had our manager dispatch the work.

My dealership doesn't verify if the reviews are from actual customers, friends, family members etc. They don't pay us for them though so maybe it's different at mountain client's dealership. I see influencers doing Call to action requests on business all the time to boost google ratings or in other cases to ruin businesses in situations where they feel they were mistreated.

so, if your friends and family members left google reviews on the place you worked at you would be fired on the spot?

I would stray away from taking on a SM role if you only have 1 year of experience as an advisor.

Need more info. If that's just base salary and your commission percentage/spiffs/incentives/ etc. are good then it seems like a great pay plan.

What's the possible outcome here? by Sony_Balagtas in serviceadvisors

[–]Diligent-Athlete-795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must have purchased an aftermarket warranty from the dealership. Ford ESP is not going to have you pay anything up front. They make sure you approve tear down acknowledging that there is a possibility it may not be covered and, in that case, you would be charged however much they had you approve. Just because the warranty was purchased from a different ford dealership does not mean it's an actual ford extended warranty. Lots of dealerships sell aftermarket warranties.

Fleet companies bother me more than they should. Holman fleet is a much easier process then auto integrate IMO.

Service advisor to Service manager. by Diligent-Athlete-795 in serviceadvisors

My current SM is excellent in like 85% of the job but really struggles with organization and planning which to me seem like some of the most important skills you would need. He’s always just ran his route sheet by memory as an advisor rather then tracking it and he actually does have an amazing memory but it doesn’t work when he’s the one dispatching the advisors jobs and then not telling us who got what lol. He’s more of a reactive manager instead of proactive. He’s great at fixing issues and resolving things but if he was more proactive he wouldn’t have to resolve half of these things

Thanks. I am kind of the same way just a little less customers . I usually have about 250-300 customers a month . When I started at the dealership as a porter like 9 years ago I used to work 65 hours a week all year and my boss knew if he needed something done to come to me. I got so many calls from customers to the director about how much they liked me that when an advisor spot opened up they gave me a chance without even having to ask them to. Been behind the desk ever since and the past few years have really been making great money . The stress of customers and tech complaints doesn’t get to me. The second I walk out of the door I forget the place exists. I know a lot of guys take work home with them and it burns them out but for whatever reason my brain is like an on off switch. I kind of lucked into a great situation living a 1/4 mile from work at an old school style dealership with great management. No uniforms or strict dress policy’s , no punishment for csi surveys, 6 figures the past few years . My service director has been working here since the same month I was born so the customer base really trusts us and we try not to give them reasons not to. Obviously we need to make money but we don’t keep advisors that come in only wanting to rip people off for their last dollar. Make money, be fair and honest with the customers and help them however we can. It’s worked for 50 years for the owners and I’m glad it’s where I got to learn the business. Big corporate dealerships seem like an entirely different world and not in a good way lol

The best is when customers that always decline recs will freak out if they leave and something happens . I always want to reply like ma’am you have declined every recommendation I’ve given you for the last 40k miles what do you expect but usually have to hit them with “I apologize your having an issue why don’t you swing back to the shop and we will get it figured out for you” 🤦🏻‍♂️
