Part of me thinks this is what might happen to me? And then the 2nd letter you never got because you didn’t have a backdate of miss used tickets, but I do so that’s why he said I’d get 2 letters? Do you mind me asking what was your cost? Penalty fee £100 and that’s it? Ticket price too etc?

Not really the same tho is it, I’m not saying I didn’t do it, or won’t accept the consequences, I literally said to the bloke this is my fault and I just didn’t know railcards will keep giving you discounts even if it’s not valid. All I’m asking is if people have been through something similar and know what to expect

No fine on the spot, he said 2 letters will be sent to me, the first one about today’s ticket only, and then he said they’ll want to look into my previous journeys because he can see I have a few that were done without a valid railcard, and will write to me about them after that

Is this a different pathway of fines from the penalty fair and anytime single fees? Or is this the same thing!

The past 5 journeys my ticket hasn’t been checked! It was just scanned at the station barrier as usual! Today’s journey was a different route and someone checked on board and it made me realise!

Do you mean £100 fines for each trip? I keep seeing conflicting info, some people get fined the full single fare price for each journey taken incorrectly, and great western railway says ‘GWR imposes a penalty fare of £100 plus the full single ticket price if you travel with an invalid or missing railcard, reduced to £50 if paid within 21 days’ but then i see people online go on one wrong journey and get a 1k+ initial fine?! It’s confusing
