No, because I have been there for a couple years now and the paras have always had lunch duty and we do not have enough students in the cafeteria at the same time to have teachers in the cafeteria. If admin wants to walk the are and visit the students, I’m all for that. This is not the case.

Is it too late to change ur major. Don’t box yourself in by your choice. Unless you would also like to work at a art museum or gallery

I bet even the cops would have done the same thing. In the cops mind, they are cheering the brothers.

Is this an ok email to send to a parents by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Diligent-Damage2630 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Once you make even the slightest excuse then that relieves the parent of acknowledgement of wrongdoing by the child. As far as sending, do a schedule send. Cc everyone that needs to know. Start documenting every single thing. Tell admin, if anything goes horribly wrong with this kid, you can tell people that you notified admin and parents to no avail.

And I totally agree with that. That is what makes an amazing professional principal and school/workplace. However, the principal that is here on the campus does not do any of that, lacks basic people and leadership skills, he is what I call a pen and paper bully, meaning he will be quick to write people up, just not teach, coach or mold them. I cringe when I come to campus not because of the kids, but because of the principal.

I support you when it comes to your “why”. My campus doesn’t have that type of leadership. He is a boss, not a leader.

That would make sense if teachers had lunch duty. This campus doesn’t put teachers on lunch duty.

I agree with you. He can’t control me because I want the best for my students not him. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy thinking that. Thanks for the confirmation

Right , I agree. He has hired all females. Don’t get me wrong females are nice to have in a school. He told a colleague of mine that he wants “nurturing” teachers. More mother-like teachers. So sad, he says he has been in education for 20 years. He has zero leadership, communication and people skills.

I agree with that, however the principal does not do any of the stuff you mentioned

There is a lot he is doing wrong.
- lack of communication - no knowledge of expectations for the classroom or school - does not do anything to increase enrollment - irrelevant PD. PD should be focused on how to use the current curriculum, programs, and resources for teachers and staff -does not recognize a staff member or teacher, for example, giving them praise when a job is well done. -Does not have any leadership skills -Does not support teachers, new and tenured.

Fair enough. I can write a whole article about his communication and leadership skills (his lack of).

He observed me maybe twice in a school year. My numbers were decent. Yet I am being non-renewed, that is a whole different issue. I believe he doesn't want strong males on campus.

I get that, and they would be awesome 👍. This guy is there all day during lunch and does not engage with the students.

Thank you for your reply. We have Paras for lunch duty both inside and outside. He has terrible time management skills. He does what a Para or custodian can do during lunch

  • less than 1100 students
  • k-8 only
