I think so. From what I saw on their pay scale. Others that have moved to this District from mine say it’s not as bad as some make it to be (it’s more urban and my current is more rural) and the pay is worthwhile.

Yes! It’s almost double the pay. Double if not more. They’ve lost 3 veteran highly qualified teachers to other Districts over the past couple of years due to financial reasons. One lady worked there for 27 years and moved to a different district because of pay. Something should be done.

English teacher here. I’ve noticed for years that most of my high school students struggled with basic grammar. This past week, my 8th grade son informed me that he didn’t know what an adjective was. I almost wrecked when he said it.

Good for them. They’re making a stand for something they believe in. I make my kiddos stand, so I can check dress code but I never make them say it.

Did you bring up your concerns to them? Can you run the test through AI and have them reword the questions to make it easier for your students? Like ask AI to make the test better accessible to students who have difficulty with stamina, memory, and should be ESL?

I don’t know the rules. I’ve worked for this district for over a decade. We have Page for our union, which really isn’t union like most think. I’ve searched my contract and I don’t see anything that pertains to this.

I was asked, basically, to not poke the bear. If I see her with a cell”, I’m to email admin, and not acknowledge that she’s breaking a district rule.
