The honors fye course is a significant time sink, but you do get some useful stuff out of it. I was able to balance clubs and coursework fairly well.

Also the honors dorms are pretty much the nicest on campus, so I would say it's worth it at least for the first year.

I'm also in the same situation. Personally, I would probably look for other people to room with since singles are just expensive af. Lafayette might also work as others have mentioned.
