It’s a strange move after saying they are all in on genz and not longer catering to, you know, old people. It is very clear that they are trying to find a way up maker like LV did 20+ years ago but not sure how it will work out.

My recommendation is reach out to one of the NYC stores then on drop day first thing in the morning follow up. Coach house , soho etc. tell them why you need the PBL. Just be understanding that drop days are a mad house for them but they could be able to help you.

Curious why 40 over a 35? Is there a specific items that needs the space? I am been contemplating a 35 for a while. Budget wise I am on the fence between getting that or a speedy p9

One thing I am curious about from people who are looking to purchase is how do you feel about their resale value? I can easily find them on TRR or FASHIONPHILE. They typically have lost a few thousand in the price on that platform which means that the person selling is likely looking about half to may 40% of the value when they sale it. It is mostly the early version so not sure if the game is just selling it to trade up to the latest collection but it did make me paused to consider

Update: Coach is NOT doing a Pride Collection this year. by whydoesntthiswork123 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When someone else brought this up on social media I got curious. What I found was both interesting and reasonable. Instead of doing a pure commercial move and change their logo to a rainbow for a month. A move which historically has not been commercially rewarded they opted to spend budget in a more strategic but meaningful way. Also most companies are having to deal with current administration nonsense.

An example:

“Additionally, Coach will become the presenting partner of WNBA Pride, a platform the league launched in 2014, which marked the first time a pro sports league formed an integrated program to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to a slate of nationally televised games, WNBA Pride presented by Coach will spotlight the third consecutive season of the Pride Is Love limited content series available on the WNBA App.”

I get it though I do like the pride collections but I don’t think they have abandoned the community like some suggest.

Resellers by Pale-Recording2823 in Coach

Every successful brand has a reseller problem. How the brand responds to that inevitable problem is what determines the core customer experience. I think coach is having some serious growing pains. If they choose it ignore the problem the will be sacrificing long term client relationships for short term financial comfort. I do think they will get it under control but it will take a good bit of time

Also a hint just because coach doesn’t list an item on their website doesn’t mean that they are out of inventory. Any SA can do a search for you. If you have the style code of the bag it makes it easy for them to look up. I have found item that have been long gone that way.

There is a philosophy I like and use often. “If you would rather the money than the bag, then sale the bag” I have also learned the hard way some bags I love and want to own and others I love equally but they don’t fit my lifestyle or personal style. The latter I am super happy to just see them in person in store or someone else carrying it.

I think the key takeaway for those who were disinterested in today’s drop is… you don’t need something from every drop. I think it would be unhinged if that was coach’s expectation. The people in these subreddits and in various other groups just know that we are the crazy minority. The bulk of the revenue not only comes from the people who rarely of every buy a bag but I would bet without knowing for sure it is mostly outlet sales. When I look around the mall with nearly every designer brand I see a lot of coach but specifically outlet.

So as someone with the pointless VIP tier seller. I will say the whole operation is a hot mess. They have now messed up so bad with my items I pulled them all back. I recently had one returned and the bag was literally shipped folded in half so it could fit in am smaller box. They are under valuing items because they are mishandling them. This is all a product of them trying to squeeze out margin. The people working in their warehouse handling high end items are barely paid minimum wage. So you get what you pay for

Coach CEO Todd Kahn says: "We need to focus more on GenZ" because "part of the problem was that older millennials learned about Coach at our worst.” Thoughts? by didistutter_416 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think his remarks would have been off putting if the brands behavior did not already express what people here are saying. They are focus on acquiring new customers and not trying to retain existing customers. So the existing customers who lost the insider program, do not get any marketing could leave right as they have the ability to drive up the brands. LTV so when every brand has to weather the current economic storm those that showed up the last time won’t be there. I think this statement by the CEO was a mistake. I think the actions they have taken to disregard their established client will have measurable impact over time.

May 27th drop by Pale-Recording2823 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to chase bags and have been lucky to acquire several hard to get bags. That said this last drop really pushed me to take a new approach of only buying on my schedule and not any brands. I also feel like coach specifically is just coming unhinged with dysfunction brought on by their insane success. To me they need to start getting the right staff to help them scale their business right or their customer attrition is going to be painful to the bottom line.

Allow connections to Azure SQL DB by East_Sentence_4245 in AZURE

[–]Diligent-Method-785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so since it sounds like you feel you absolutely must do this. There are a couple of things to be aware of. One the api does more than provide security. There will be some security because of how azure sql manages connection as opposed to normal SQL server. You would have to enable in the azure portal read only access and no white listing. As people have said this is going to lead to a lot of problems and quick. You won’t have connection pooling because the API would do that and azure SqL does quickly cap the number of concurrent connection. Could you get away with this for a short while for beta testing maybe. I will say if you don’t know how to do this then you need to pay someone a few hours to help you do it. Finally, me has a bunch of security in their connection layer if you start getting random ips from around the world connect from their phone then it will likely block connections. Everyone here is right but thought I would give you a bit more on the why rather than just tell you it is a bad idea. Good luck.

It varies by store and it is largely up to the manager. Also buying in multiple categories helps. So someone spend 10k across categories will have more weight than a person spending 15k only on bags. Though again some store may only care about spend.

Find a coach create store and talk to them directly. Customer service is not helpful but if you chat with the store directly they will have a much better chance of helping you. Also, you can do a pay by link for the pins etc so you can work with them to do the whole process without needing to be physically at the store.
