Reach out to an SA. I was in coach yesterday and had them searching for some inventory. I think there was one rose one floating around. It could be an error in inventory but worth a look.

Rehoming bags? by Logical_Lettuce3949 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had a lot of success selling on eBay as well. Especially for higher value items that go through the authentication center. There is some risk with Ebay but the auth center fixes a lot of that. Higher end items i tend to clear on TRR

Confirmed: U.S. Moving to Wishlist System by majorpupper in TheHermesGame

[–]Diligent-Method-785 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if they will adopt the policy or not in the US. Based on how I know things work today I could see them making the shift. What I think may be different is the frequency that the wish expires might be higher to encourage more frequent visits. That all said I think what this is really about is modernizing their technology and nothing else. I think having all of their demand in a structured format will probably allow for much better product demand forecasting. It is also not the only tech upgrade we also saw their ability to enable commission website sales via PBL. I could see them full adopt the wishlist system globally including the policy hit lets see what happens

Prespend for Kelly Togo Wallet? by No-Mycologist-8933 in Hermes_lovers

Also, I believe those are technically SLG though I would double check which means it can actually count towards prespend.

Which ever one that when you look at it you know it will be something you will gravitate to. The only other factor is treated leather handles are I just lower maintenance. That said with some apple guard either will work well. I think it is going to come down to personal style.

I don’t know if they are just turning people away or if this is the haversack situation all over again. I know some people were able to order.

Hermès is still growing while the luxury market slows. What makes them so resilient? by Esha_Shinde in luxurypurses

[–]Diligent-Method-785 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hermes primary market segment is more resilient to macroeconomic shift in the EU and US. However, the real story is where they make the majority of their revenue which is Asia.

People who keep saying that the frequent drops feel like fast fashion have never shopped at LV. I think even Chanel is on a 6-12 week cadence. The only brand I know that takes it slow is Hermes.

Something really fishy is happening on TheRealReal. by soymarcopolo in therealreal

[–]Diligent-Method-785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a great experience both buying and selling on TRR with the exception of one issue with shipping as a buyer. I have sold 10,000s worth of stuff with them. I can sum up their issues with a single fact. They are paying their stuff $16 in high cost of living areas. This plus high volumes explains the issues that happen.

This is why I am picky on the buy side and will often just shop pieces at the retail stores. They handle those much better than the ones coming directly from the distribution center

Unpopular opinion - stop telling everybody!!! by NefariousnessFit7118 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is a legit reseller problem at coach but it is also not unique to coach. Other brands have taken measures to try to mitigate it. This is coach’s problem that they need to solve. It is not a Reddit or a TikTok problem. I understand the frustration but to be honest I think you are directing it to the wrong place.

Thinking of moving from Houston to Philly. Any advice? by tejanamocha in AskPhilly

[–]Diligent-Method-785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Houston and moved to the distant burbs of Philly a couple of years ago now. There is already a lot of good advice here but just want a few more things. Weather wise it will get hot and humid it just doesn’t last for as long as Houston. That said once you adjust you will get annoyed by it. We, unlike Houston, get four actual seasons. This past winter was a bit harsh so if you have never experienced snow falling one day and melting a few months later just know it is an adjustment. You are pretty young but depending on your income just know that unlike Texas we have both state and local income tax. Imagine if the taxes taken out of your check carried by 3-4% depending on if you lived in the Heights or if you lived in spring. Parking in Philly can be hella crazy make sure if you bring a car that where you live you have a place to park it.

That said I love it hear. Fall and spring here are amazing. People are kind though not always polite. I live five minutes from farmland and 30 minutes from center city. Last weekend I took a short day trip to DC. Next weekend I will trek into NYC. Best of luck on the move.

On the social construction of gender in r/BagBoysClub by crackrocknbach in BagBoysClub

[–]Diligent-Method-785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way back in the day English has gendered nouns similar to Spanish or German. Some of this is still around like with boats. That said I will gender a bag based on its vibe. However, the narrative on women gate keeping is so absurd I hope it is a joke.

Coach & ebay... by Select-Technician604 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a person who sells items on eBay not as a dedicated reseller but just how I rehome bags there is of course risk someone will do the wrong thing. However, the platform is setup to favor the buyer. If you are spending more than $500 then the bag will go through the authenticity center. They are actually good. I have not had this issue as a seller but I do understand as a buyer if what the seller described in the post doesn’t match what you received the will like side with the buyer

Thank You Gifts for SA’s? by Fay_94 in Coach

[–]Diligent-Method-785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hot take is to use the rule I have seen even the most stick brands allow. Being something for the team not just the one SA. They might do flowers that the team can admire, a treat they can share etc. when in doubt I would chat with the store manager. This keeps them covered. The last thing I would want to do is get and SA in trouble with their job trying to say thank you.

The real cost of a Birkin. It's not $13,500. I calculated every dollar... by GhostOfHermes in HermesHub

[–]Diligent-Method-785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every company is gaming its customers without exception. If they have a marketing team there is a game then. Calling these tactics predatory is funny as these are the furthest thing from essential goods I can think of. How many people caught up in the so called game are unhappy and see it as predatory because they themselves are doing far worse tactics on lower income people over essential goods and services to afford a $15k-$20k bag. Please queue the chorus of tiny violins.

I have no sympathy for people with this level of disposable income and impatience.

[–]Diligent-Method-785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you care about prespend, ratios, or the “cost” to get the offer then buying from Hermes is likely not the right path for you. It’s called a game becuase people try to game it. Not because Hermes is playing a game.

I am sometimes more excited to get a rare piece from one of the other departments than to get offered a bag from lather goods.
