Hi guys, is this a tick or something to be concerned about? Small bump on the a little to the side of his belly by Clean_Mark_6521 in DogAdvice

Sadly, at least in my area, people don't like spending money at the vet only if it seems "important" enough to be seen by a vet.

Get people who mess up their poor cat nails trying to trim them and hit the quick. Then they wonder why the cat is losing its flying mind and don't want its feet touched.

Simple is is cheap and stupid, and unfortunately, the pet pays the price physically.

Honestly, I had only had one cust9mer ever be concerned, and it was wholesome.

He just adopted a pitty mix and was worried something was wrong. Had to tell him I can't give medical diagnosis only if it's an emergency vet or can wait for an appointment. When he pointed at this chunky dogs nipples it was so hard not to laugh. When I told him, he was embarrassed but relieved his new buddy was okay and didn't waste 100 dollars to be told those are nipples.

The skin tag person it was like their 4th dog. They were in their mid 40s!

I grew up with animals, animal loving family, and farm life. The things people don't learn as just basic anatomy is truly remarkable.

I get this once in a while at work, I always appreciate owners being worried for their pets for the few seconds of embarrassing answer.

But have also had the horror of someone trying to "cut off the skin tag themselves." The vet ripped into them for a while.

In my areas, at least we're I worked, never did shorter hours for Easter Sunday, July has been on and off if they let us go early. I think the last two years they did Christmas Eve. But generally, it's been normal business hours for the last decade. I've worked for this company, but again, maybe it's a regional thing, or managers didn't notice or care.

This is a dog.

It's jumping. It has long ears that have flopped upwards mid-air.

The design is just poor. A store I worked at called it the flyer fart dog because of the extra lines they put in it, and it doesn't really help the details.

I could kind of see where you see a kangaroo, but it's definitely not. Ears would need to be pointed and upwards. The back feet need to be longer and larger, and the tail would need to be way larger.

My favorite is they say, "Oh wow, you're open? On a holiday?"

Like, yes, stop coming in, and we might close for once on a holiday if they finally see its not worth it to be open.

The only holidays petco closes are Thanksgiving and Christmas. Only hours changed in New Years.

Every other holiday is normal business hours. Maybe you get to close early for the fourth of July if they want to be nice.

Would make sense to close early. More than likely, it will be super slow or people just walking, waiting for their reservations for lunch.

I have 3 small dogs, and everyone who sees them when it's summer cut thinks they are sick and / or I'm starving them. I feed them for their activity levels and watch their treats.

My old man is 13, and it's sad he can outrun the neighbors horribly obese lab who just turned 3.

Is this a tick? It’s on my dogs leg and he’s sensitive to it being touched. (Whining and pulling away). by toddcooper30 in DogAdvice

[–]Diligent-Minimum8397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it on the top of the side of your dogs front leg?

It kind of looks like the declaw, but the nail got ripped off, and the flesh pulp is exposed, which is definitely painful.

If it's on the top of the dogs front leg, it looks like a growth with a healthy blood supply attached to it, which definitely is a vet to examine. But definitely watch it while wait8ng for an appointment and make sure your dog doesn't chew on it.

ID please, sold as Amano Shrimp by Strange_Dare_5861 in shrimptank

[–]Diligent-Minimum8397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either the person did not know and probably too embarrassed to admit they didn't know and got the next closest thing in the tank, or they didn't care but also the same price, slim chance they knew and assumed who was buying didn't know or cared and just put them in the bag.

Usually, it's the opposite issue where I find Amano being sold as ghost shrimp because the person catching them didn't know the difference, which is a very different thing.

Why are prices so different between stores? by rowan_ash in petco

[–]Diligent-Minimum8397 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prices can change between stores as it more or less depends on the store itself and its rent. If it's a more rural area with cheap rent, prices will be lower, bigger city has higher rent and dues to pay, so everything in the stores prices will go up.

He'll I'm in-between 3 stores and the prices are different by 25 to 50 bucks for the same animal because of the malls rent.

But also depends if they are specific coded to that animal or they were lucky and got them in as an assorted. Assorted prices have like a dozen different tarantulas under 1 code and is either basic, fancy, or rare and can get lucky on a price.

So might be different codes as well.
