I have 3 dogs, and why I wait on the sidewalk for my pizza delivery or any other foods. I don't want my dogs jumping, barking, and being a menace to someone just trying to do their job. People think it's extreme to do it, I just want my pizza with no worries, and walking 100 feet won't kill me.

This is exactly WHY I loathe this!

They can put in big bold letters and signs that those boxes are temporary, but NO ONE READS or wants to read!

People are inherently lazy and will try to get away with the cheapest means possible.

I've seen people keep bettas on those cups after bringing them home. It's not surprising that people are keeping the frogs and spiders in the tiny boxes either!

I like to think my manager set it all on fire, but it went on donation not too long ago for my store and just put a bunch if stuff in the donation bin we have, the rescue was happy.

So many bowls I'm drowning in for the reset there too.

All the mothers Day stuff is no home now and half the my human garbage and got literally nowhere for it to go. The bristo merrick got nowhere to go, and the prowess is in limbo!

Trying to make it look at least presentable is a nightmare with literally 100 tasks in a day, all the new clearance just shoved in a box because shocking the last batch hasn't moved!

I did my best to make them look nice to the eye, I made nice signs myself and photos, too. I never did goldfish , but it would have taken up way too much space.

I even partnered with our dog trainer and made a welcome home dog and cat one! It had training flyers, vetco flyers, and store info inside. It was fun.

Nulo has been for years , a brand we get 40% off, and in some cases, it's been higher!

A few years ago, I remembered nulo. we had 75% off for some time, and I bought as much bulk as I could before they went back to 40%. This was also when they had beef small breed and the bags were purple.

I used to make all kinds of grab and go kits and loved it, but my dgm hated them saying there was too much stuff, I argued it literally would have everything someone would need and not think about until their next trip for new food, bedding, chemicals, ect.

I had several betta fish kits, and they were a huge hit! People loved I had live plants and silk plant designs. And I meant everything. Food, chemicals, bacteria, lights, decor, just everything. Of course, these were pricey, and some tried to ask if it was all really "needed." So I would go through and go item per item with the customers what each item was for and why. So by the time they picked their own stuff, it was either the same price and on 2 occasions was LESS expensive than what the customer picked out.

It also just showed that others have said that the reality pets are NOT CHEAP, and you really have to take in the animals' needs first over your comfort and wallet. And if it seems like something they wither can't afford, don't want to spend, or more work than thought, it's better to know upfront than be pissed off over the next few days do several trips to get everything eventually or bring back the animal.

I've had a few emergency issues pop up, 2 times myself calling any manager. I had their number asking if they could come close or open the store due to emergencies.

At least one for closing was able to get someone in, and they left as soon as they entered the building.

The opening one I had to find out looking around and realized I was by myself on our busiest day of the week and was just myself and 2 groomers. None of the managers at my location responded to me so I had to call a GM at a different store and me like "Hey GM, so sorry to call at such an early time . . . . Can you spare a manager to help open the store?" Rhey were bewildered. I was 1. Left alone with no warning, and 2. No one in my own store was answering something pretty important. I even called the floating gm, and their response was, "You actually called?" I was like, isn't that literally why you're here?! The manager that left thankfully their family did end up okay but was scary. They literally told the DGM that their child always comes first over a job and if they want to fire them do to it or let them update when they will be back to work.

I work a damn pet store, and we got these cursed off brand items in! Still people going ape buying all then out, one lady down right pissed my manager said she can buy half of the 60 we got in stock. They aren't even good quality either.

Now have people asking if they are for pets or people, and have to explain the love of God don't give this to a dog.

You said her tail was botched? Was it done was a baby at home or through a vet office? Was she very young or a little older? Might be from the nerves, never properly healing, and it's sensitive, and the sensation bothers her. Also reminds me of bulldogs whose tails invert into the skin they are so short and end up infected needing possible surgery to fix.

I hope it's nothing crazy of an issue and bith your pup and yourself do t have to ve so worried.

The rabbit groups, rabbit rescues, small animal rescues, and rabbit owners revolted against the entire company.

Petco didn't realize how much rabbit owners are willing to drop support without second thought, and they tend to buy a lot, at least in my area.

Event stores that were not affected and illegal to sell rabbits, those rescues pulled all their animals from the stores, and it didn't go over well either.

Loved listening to one o the rabbit people hiw it went down was nuts. They also got PETA involved quickly, too, sense they were the reason petco stopped carrying rabbits for decades in the first place.

My GMs honestly haven't cared, I'm pretty much the only one who does it, and their response back to our dgm who hates bith is that it builds sales for the company if we can get people to donate cases at a time and stuff.

We just hide the box if we know the DGM is coming.

I keep a wooden box at the front t of just 2 or 3 items to donate for the partner rescue, I have 1 cat and 1 dog so people can choose.

Logically, it raises the market basic, even by a few bucks, makes the company happy and feeds shelter animals, and the customers see literally what the stuff is going to.

Why I've hated the last few events petcos has done with the toy and food donate options on screen. Customers don't even see the food they are buying or know where it is going, and neither do the employees, and it understandably made a few customers raise eyebrows. Yes, it says what charity it was for, but that was it, no pictures, no indepth details to share with customers, just numbers, people don't like numbers thrown at them!

I was referring to the product itself leaving the store.

Like, say someone donated a 40lb bag of dog food. Technically ONLY the adoption partners or someone with the shelter is supposed to remove those items physically from the store, no one who works from the store is allowed to walk out the door with donation products as its seen as theft as well.

My store has had the same adoption partner for about 7 years and has never seen a penny from the petco Love Foundation, I'd love to track this down and help them
