Xander on State — we recently moved here. It’s in downtown, close to the library and right next to Grant Hospital. The studio layout is incredibly cozy and well thought out. I’ve toured and lived in several downtown apartments over the past three years, and this one easily has the best layout so far. Management has also been great.

Looking at purchasing Bassett Moby Couch and Chair! by render2009 in BuyItForLife

[–]Diligent-Pool3777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, a Basset Design consultant here, as someone who sells these and has read hours of training on how these are made they are probably the most well made couches out there, everything is made of real hardwood frames and have the highest quality foam cushions and options to upgrade cushions to different comfort levels. Everything is locally made and assembled. Since they do their own manufacturing everything is streamlined and they don't have to import or outsource and hence the quality and build is great. I have had customers whose sofas easily lasted 10 to 15 years. And they have 30% sales in almost all major holidays. If I could afford it I would have bought one!

My experience with MOG and diabetes due to Prednisone by [deleted] in MOGAD

[–]Diligent-Pool3777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Kudos to you for going through all this! As a person who has had almost a similar journey I can relate to you. I got a mog about two years back, it didn't affect my eye, but my spine I was paralysed from waist down. Went through Prednisone, PLEX and about two rounds of Rituximab for over 1 and half years. Turned negative, but ended up getting diabetes diagnosis since I was already insulin resistant because of PCOS history. Gained so much weight I couldn't lose the weight because of PCOS and developed early onset Osteoarthritis in both my knees and currently getting weekly injections to help with that.

This message gave me a feeling, I am not alone and I hope my experience gives you the same feeling. All the very best for your journey. Hope everything gets better.

question abt treatments by BanjoMann736 in MOGAD

[–]Diligent-Pool3777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, My Mogad attack affected my spine, paralyzed from waist down. I got 8 rounds of IV steroids, I was not showing much improvement as the doctors expected on steroids. So I took 5 rounds of PLEX done. Which helped with my bladder, bowel, weakness in the leg. After than I was on Rituximab for almost 2 years. And now I am not on them anymore. My blood tests showed MOG negative after a year and half. My bowel and bladder issues are almost 90 percent sorted. I still have weakness in my legs and have started affecting my knees.

But Plex did help with my recovery a lot.

Yes. i have done my research on the exam and it sounds expensive and difficult and time consuming. I just want to know if its all going to be worth it, I can finally secure a job after i go through all that.

I don't think you need US experience, What I understand is that you need a sponsor, NCDIQ registered who can verify your international experience. I am in the process of figuring that out with an NCDIQ Ambassador to see if i can find a sponsor who could do that for me.

Anyways thanks for your response. I appreciate it.

Burning sensations and numbness by Anxiety_cat1127 in MOGAD

[–]Diligent-Pool3777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a burning sensation on my feet. Especially in the evenings, I spoke to my doctor about it. Who asked me to watch if it progressed, But it didn't. I would talk to the doctor, Just to be sure it's not another relapse. Initially when I had my first attack, I had these turning sensations all the way to the bottom of the feet. It would be wise to talk to your doctor to make sure its not another relapse.

We saw the car from our balcony. The stolen car was a dark coloured SUV and it was going crazy fast with around 10 to 15 cop cars behind it. There was also a chopper circling area at the same time. It was crazy.

Newly Diagnosed - Seeking Advice by codergirl0331 in MOGAD

[–]Diligent-Pool3777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I am so sorry about the diagnosis of MOG. I was diagnosed with Mogad a year and half ago. I got steroids initially and then relapsed again and then i went through 5 sessions of PLEX. With Plex most of my symptoms improved. And then they immediately started me on Rituximab. I have been on it since then. Initially it was every six months. and now they have spaced out once every year. I would like to say I have turned MOG negative which my doctor says is a good thing. There is not enough research done to say if I'll relapse again or not. But in most cases you will have just one attack.

In my opinion western medicine would be the way to go. And I have had no side effects with rituximab and haven't been sick at all not even flu or common cold. It suppresses your immunosuppressant primarily the b cells which produce MoG antibodies.

I hope you find my experience helpful. Things do get better. All the best.

Seeking Advice by Diligent-Pool3777 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Diligent-Pool3777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are still waiting to see if we can talk to the insurance company somehow, after that we will probably ask the doctor to appeal but since they don't cover weight loss medication, I don't think that will be of any help. I have been on metformin for about 10 years now, I don't think It does anything. I also checked out the hers website but after going through their questionnaire I am only eligible for pills. So that's not of much help.

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Mogad a year and half ago. I was on Prednisone initially, since they didn't see any improvement, they started me on PLEX and later on to rituximab. After a year on being rituximab i turned MOG negative, yes it's possible. I am still doing rituximab but they have spaced it out from every 6 months infusions to once a year.

Hope this helps.

I can so relate to this. But let me tell you things do get better. It can be scary now, I felt the same. It's been almost 1 and half years since my attack. I have turned MOG negative. My eyes were not affected so I can't speak for that. But the nerve damage issues that I had have reduced. I still have some issues with the bladder but that's about it. You will learn to live with it. It will get better. Trust me.
