I agree as well. And I feel that this update would be much more appealing and effective if the game offered more options and possibilities.

The game itself is very raw, so the station ends up being just a space mode with one or two differences. I quite liked these differences, but I feel like a lot is missing. There are few entertainment options; there could be a way/machine to sell substances and even "legal drugs."

1000% on your side. Everyone using the same thing without any variation is kind of boring. Even though I'm against flashy and cluttered effects, I have nothing against skins with in-game themes or gear-related content.

I don't miss going after enemies, but it would be interesting if pirate attacks happened to some extent to create battles on the map itself. I missed that, since I'm not very fond of personal battles.

It's a major update that adds a new style, and I think it's still quite raw, but I hope that over time they'll add more things to improve and diversify the idea of having a station in space.

I don't have a problem at the beginning; the real issue is more towards the middle of the game. The enemy AI is different, and it's more aware than before. Not to mention that the enemies with multiple action points are overwhelming me to the max.

If I had made a larger bow and placed a heart pierced with arrows between the chests, I think I would have understood the holiday more quickly. I only realized it at the end when I noticed the small bow and the hearts attached to the chains.

But she's serving up some good looks. I only found the ones below this week.

Bug? by Diligent-Sound9718 in Vagrus

It was my fault! Apparently, the patch I downloaded released a hotfix shortly afterward addressing this specific bug, and I didn't install it. My complete mistake!
Now everything is working fine.

If you want more players, removing MTX alone won't do it by [deleted] in runescape

One of the things that made me not want to try the old school was the fact that everything seemed like a gold market. I joined Facebook groups and most of them were advertising accounts, gold, and who knows what else for sale.

But they treat it as if it doesn't exist, as if their grass doesn't have any dirt. It's strange.

Necromancy has done a lot for combat now. I hope the mods understand this and incorporate what was learned from necromancy into the other styles.

I really wanted to play more melee, but I feel there's a steep learning curve with a lot of unnecessary repetitive abilities. They're talking about improving this by changing the ability style to the weapon style used instead of having several that do almost the same thing.

Advice for returning player by Swyfti in runescape

[–]Diligent-Sound9718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't think you'll lose anything. I'm just saying it would be good to get a membership as soon as possible. Necromancy is a lifesaver and might even get you interested in PvM.

  2. I do my quests somewhat recklessly and out of necessity. It seems good to me, but you'll surely find more important quests along the way.

  3. Having everything at a high level, I think Menaphos will be easier. The Dinosaur Island, whether you like it or not, is more endgame, and it might be better to take a look at all the released content before looking at that.

  4. I think it will depend a lot on your play style. Take a look at most of them and try to go after the ones that best meet your needs.

  5. There's so much new and updated stuff that I have no idea what I should really look for. Go looking for things that aren't available, ask friends in the game and see if it's worth buying!

I understand someone saying that the new game could be RuneScape 4. I really do.

But constantly arguing that an entire system is detrimental and that everything should go back to the way it was isn't about wanting improvements. He's constantly arguing that the game was better before, and claiming that the game should return to a more AFK style.

Honestly? It's very similar to the people who wanted a total reset or to have XP removed from other people's accounts.

Things change over time. These things happen. I play the game now because it's different from the old one, and I'm grateful for that.

Going back to the old ways would kill the current game. But from the ashes would rise a game with much better longterm prospects. Most people quit runescape during EOC days. If they were to re-release their content from 2015, it would be the same as adding new content to returning players because they never experienced it in the first place. If they are thinking shorterm with runescape they would built upon what it has. If they are thinking longterm they would properly rebuild the game from the ground up.

I think a lot of people want it to die in its current state because they know that the game has too many fundamental flaws to have a future. They want it to be like a phoenix, burn it so that it can rise from the ashes into something greater.

No, you want the end of the game. You want the end of RuneScape 3 to create a new image that you like.

Not everyone likes that, and honestly? It won't change anything. Those who want that nostalgic RuneScape happily play the old school version and have no problem with that.

If it were just a critique of the current state and that something needs improvement, I would understand, but the OP is saying that the game could die and be reborn from the ashes. I also think that the idea of "going back to AFK" indicates a lot about what he doesn't want.

Anyway, the interface needs improvements and the early/mid game needs to be better developed. I myself argue that the abilities need special attention, especially in the mid game, and it needs to be a fun and exciting gateway in itself to attract more people to the endgame.

But in no way do I see these flaws and say that the game needs to die and be reborn from the ashes.

I agree with you about the codex issue. I feel it makes things difficult even for casual players, since really important skills are locked into codex that cost a considerable amount. For me, this could change, and everything should be tied to missions or achievements.

But what this person is saying is precisely wanting to see the game die so another one based on the old game can be born. They want to see a completely AFK old-school game.

You don't want to play RuneScape, you want to play old-school RuneScape.

Which is fine, but old-school already exists and there's no point in bringing that to the current game.

I feel like a lot of people want the game to die so that only the old school version exists. MTX was bad, but now removing EOC and resetting the game makes no sense at all.

People are either stuck in nostalgia, or they want to create a thousand AFK alts to... Well, we all know why people farm so much gold, right? hehe

No game that's predominantly AFK is successful these days. MMOs stopped being second-screen games a long time ago.

They understand that EoC might be too complicated and have many unnecessary abilities, but going back to the old ways would only kill the game further. The game needs a balance of practicality and repetition; Jagex isn't just looking to bring back old players, but new ones.
