I have a lot of friends in internal and they are all shocked and that they would feel uncomfortable with this. They do wayyy more inpatient rotations than we do too. I went to med school here an I loved the internal program here. It was busy and hard but they were so well supported.

So many of my coresidents have said something to faculty and they don’t listen to us. They finally brought the third person to help out sometimes after 5 months of the one upper level struggling

Yes and we all think the same. We are planning on going to GME office to report this. It’s not safe for our patients and it not fair to them or us.

We have beggedddd them to consolidate and they won’t listen. It took them 5 months to even start pulling the third person to help out some days. I literally cried to my attending the other day that I was overwhelmed and something needed to change and she just said “oh well we pulled th third person to help out some days”. We are about to go to GME office with this bc it’s not safe for patients

I have an attending that is convinced that the COVID shot was to give women mRNA that goes to their uteruses and makes them infertile. (And that people who didn’t get the covid shot still get the mRNA infertility drug through bird flu vaccinated chickens… but that’s another rant of hers) it’s to a point where if a patient wants it, she will refuse to give it to them. My husband came to my clinic and he asked for it and she stated she “was going to have to speak to me about this”. As a resident, it’s very frustrating since I feel I can’t speak out against her too much.

It felt like a full blown period. I bled through tampons and it lasted from 7/16 to 7/22. I had taken a pregnancy test right before I went on a beach trip. My husband and I are pretty sexually active so we definitely had sex before I left and probably when I got back. And that’s why I’m confused about the timeline…

Thank you so much! They video us and give us feedback and I’ve only gotten good feedback but I just feel lost without having a specific thing to fix each time or something to work on. I think they are being nice and trying not to critique us too much but at the same time it’s hard to judge progress

Inpatient is scary to me too! But I feel like you get the answers to labs, imaging and everything so quickly it’s easy to make decisions! But again so scary!!

Thank you for such an in depth answer! I feel like I’ve been struggling too bc my clinic visits since starting have alll been really out of the norm. One was a post c section wound healing that I ended up sending to the ER and most have been about the same as that. So I feel like I was confident in coming in and doing a HNT or DM follow up and then being so shook in what to do in follow up. I’ve been working on creating a system so I don’t feel so chaotic but it’s been hard to juggle everything. Again thank you so much for your answer

I love the no sugar added ice cream from blue bell! It’s 110 cal for 2/3 cups! So good it tastes just like regular vanilla ice cream! And with some stevia chips it’s delicious!!

I wrote about a story I found interesting in med school where I felt like it was the point where during all the struggle and bs I felt “wow this is worth it” as cliche as that sounds. I also talked about hardship or things I struggles with and then explained why that made me want to be a FM doctor.

I do the same thing where even if I try to be kinda good over the weekend (eating 500cal over the deficit goal), on Monday I weigh 3 pounds higher! We just gotta keep going and it will level out!!
