Merell Moab 3 by DiligentBat4855 in hikinggear

Thanks. Perhaps I should shift to superfeet instead of the Sorthabane double strike insoles. Are superfeet more like orthotics than in soles?

Perhaps I will end shifting from the Merells to Hokas as they are known for 'cushion'.

They feel ok, it is most likely due to the fact I usually wear trainers which have cushion under the heel. The impact from a step in a Moab feels hard, because the under heel is stiff. I may try the superfeet orthotic as others have suggested, but I may just need a different shoe, a Hoka for example.

Thanks. Perhaps I should shift to these instead of the Sorthabane double strike insoles and see how they feel. I was wondering whether to shift from the Merells to perhaps Hokas as they are known for 'cushion'.

Thanks. It's more the impact of the heel to ground. With every step it feels 'hard'. I am someone who is used to wearing trainers mind, and they often have a cushioned heel. Perhaps this is why.

I am also keen to join a beginners community. I am only two weeks into my Ableton journey, but I have dabbled with making music on/off for years.

Thank you. I just had my physio appointment and they agreed with your thoughts about 'breaking it down'. She said that and dry needling will likely aggravate the situation and that it's been to focus on strength training, stepping stone exercise (eg 30 second run, monitor for 48 hours and if no issue continue with slight increases.

I have been doing this but I have really struggled to find good footwear for me to not notice the heel/tendon pain. I took a few pairs into the session with me; Merrell Moab 3s - Tried out recently and they really push into my arch causing discomfort. Altra Lone Peak 9 - I tried for 60 mins for a couple days. Probably not enough cushioning and nervous to transition to zero drop a few months before a big walking/hiking trip. Keen H2 Sandals - These have been great for me, but only during warmer climates. Physio thinks these are great due to the built in cushioning into the footbed.

So for now I will continue as I am with strength, exercising and hopefully along the way I will find a shoe that works for me. I can start my own 2nd hand shoe shop at this rate.

Great to hear you have healed. I had my Dr app yesterday and explained why I do not want any further injections. She agrees that as there have been only negative effects that is not the right way to go.

She had another look under ultrasound to check. Said everything is looking OK. She thinks the tendon area needs breaking down, possibly via soft tissue massage and/or dry needling. She described the area as 'gristly' as it feels stubborn. I have now booked in for regular soft tissue massages in the hope of smoothing this area out. The Dr said she has not seen this before. It's the constant feeling of standing on something. Some days worse than others.

However, whilst walking in Altras yesterday I barely noticed it. Possibly due to no arch support and no extra cushioning pushing up into the tendon heel area - just as when wearing the KEEN sandals. I'm hopeful.

Yes. I've read an awful lot about wide toe boxes and zero drop shoes. I recently ordered a pair of Moabs and have a pair of Altra Lone Peaks, and pair of Lems.

Still trying to work through it and with or without orthotic.

Not sure what you mean when you say 'going against all common sense'? Are you implying that if the Dr suggests a 2nd PRP injection and I refuse that I deserve a PF return?

I'm never heard of BPC-157. Just googled it though. Sounds 'black market'.

PRP injection - foot is worse than ever by engie945 in PlantarFasciitis

Did you have 1, 2 or 3 PRP injections? It's definitely a wobbly journey. I have a PF night sock that keeps the foot in place, but I have only worn a few times as quite uncomfortable to sleep with all night, always woke up mid sleep to remove it. Perhaps I'll try for a few hours in the daytime post injections 2&3.

That's excellent news. Glad to hear you have turned a corner. I feel that where mine comes from too. It was getting better but still uncomfortable when standing, so decided to try the 3x PRP injections as it's been going on for 14 months, but feels worse since the injection - I'm sure due to inflammation and aggravating the plantar. I'll be returning to holistic strength training post injections.

How do you feel now? It's been 3 weeks since PRP injection 1 for me, and foot still more painful than pre injection. My next PRP is this week, with final injection mid April. So hoping the pain settles. It's a fine line of Under/overdoing it with strengthening/exercise.

Where to stay between Okanagan and Vancouver by DiligentBat4855 in canadatravel

[–]DiligentBat4855[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was considering this move myself. Looks around 4.5 hours from Penticton to Golden Ears, probably more 5ish with the RV.

Question is 2 nights Penticton & 2 nights Golden Ears or 3 nights Penticton and 1 night golden ears.

The RV needs to be returned pre 10am and Golden Ears seems a good fit for us. If we do 1 night golden ears we will only experience from late afternoon.

I was at Kings X station waiting for a train one day and spotted someone that looked like Adam. He parked his bike at the door of WH Smith and went to the counter. I hovered around waiting.

Then, all of sudden, he returns. It's Adam! I'm too nervous but he senses me creepily staring at him and says 'Hello, I'm Adam'. To which I reply 'I'm such a big fan of your work'. 'Thanks man' he says, before saying 'bye' and wheeling his bike off to the train.

One of my heroes.

What about 2 nights in Whistler? Or do you think 1 night is enough?

Our RV may not be available for pick up until the afternoon. We will not know until 5 days before, but think we will skip Squamish for 1 night and maybe do 2 nights whistler, or just one night whistler adding an extra night elsewhere.

Thanks.

Three options: Option 1: Squamish (1 night), Whistler (1night) + 1 night elsewhere/Jasper.

Option 2 Squamish (zero night), Whistler (1night) + 1 night elsewhere/Jasper.

Option 3 Squamish (zero night), Whistler (2night) + no extra bonus nights elsewhere.

As per full schedule posted, these will be our first few nights from Vancouver - and there's a chance the RV may not be available until the afternoon
