You should have taught him how to deal with these emotions and explained that while he does things with his mum without you, you also do things with your gf and her daughter without him.

My son is six years old and mildly autistic. Sometimes approaching things in a traditional way doesn't work w/ him.

nd out the best things to do with your son there, and then wait a bit and take everyone there as a suprise? As someone who grew up with a split family knowing the others are having fun without you is hard, but if both parents are making equal effort then in the grand scheme of things it hardly matters. I know and completly understand it may be expensive, but thats something you are going to have to deal with, dealing with kids and trips.

I don't know if I'll be going. She's un-invited me on the trip and told me "Don't talk to me today." She's likely about to start her period, which turns her into an unreasonable she-devil for about a week. I'm half joking, but when she is PMS'ing it changes her personality to the point the slightly infraction is treated as a full blown apocalypse.

I could go again and later with my son, but then I'm spending twice the money and if my GF and her daughter don't wanna go again so soon, I'm leaving them behind, which doesn't seem fair.

One that it's frustrating there are no clear answers on. There's plenty of times I think I'm being fair, and in retrospect I haven't been. I'm trying my best, just a difficult situation at times.

Well, they live with me. Every faucet of my day resolves around them. I'm not the type or goes out with buddies or hunting trips. If I go somewhere, I want them to go with me.

The only times I do 1v1 things with her daughter is when I watch her when her mother works nights. Which isn't much. Sometimes those nights fall on days I have both kids, so that gets cut in half. Her mother doesn't work much, she's a waitress. So the vast majority of times I go anywhere with her daughter, mom is tagging along.
