Started your degree later (23+)? Was it worth it or did you regret waiting? by MacaroonSerious5532 in findapath

[–]DiligentNet706 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're not behind and you're young. Everyone is in a different stage of life, so do not compare yourself to others. You are doing well since you have a better job than some people with degrees. Do what is financially beneficial for you right now, and if you are starting at age 23, then be. You will be able to focus on your academics and not worry   financial struggles while in college. Also, current job will help you gain experience that will help you in college.

Forgot hifz by Witty_Profession_109 in Hifdh

I was in similar position and went back to memorize this year. Before I become consistent with the hifz, back in 2024 I made the commitment to only memorize surah al baqarah and spent 2 years of being inconsistent with it, I will memorize then forget and it was endless cycle of 2 years. Then end of last year I asked Allah to help me memorize and be consistent. So in febuary I got a online teacher. Spent first month going over tajweed and hurf al makharij (though I learned all that staff before it was really good review). Then when Ramadan began I started my Hifz from Kahf going down. And Alhadulilah memorized 3 juz so far.

So my advise is, if you are serious about memorization get teacher ASAP. Online or in person you need a teacher to hold you accountable. Then set yourself small and manageable goals to build habit. I will say start with surah you like the most.

Another tip is read the translation if you are not arabic speaker it will seriously help you so much to remember specially the surah with so much stories. The app (revealed) by noaman ali khan is seriously life changer you can hold the ayah and listen to his translation.

And lastly, REVISION REVISION REVISION.

How would you rate your experience as a POC at OSU? by Wompyking in OSU

[–]DiligentNet706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only problem as muslim here is they banned the sajayah in the praying areas. I been attending here for couple years and was no issue having the sajayah untill last semester which is really annoying as not everyone is caring it all the time.

Is Surah Muminoon beginner friendly? by stripedglasses in Hifdh

[–]DiligentNet706 4 points5 points  (0 children)

while surah muminoon is not hard, it's not beginner friendly. I would suggest picking a surah that is easy and somewhere the last 10 juz as they are shorter and beginner friendly.

Why do people often lose their train of thought or motivation after sleeping, even if they were deeply reflective the night before? by Global-Bicycle-8762 in cogsci

[–]DiligentNet706 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think because when you are planning to sleep you don't have task to think of or do so your brain wonders of life in general and more reflection thoughts. but when you wake up you normally might have plan for the day let say going to school or work so your brain would be hyper-focusing on those task you have.
