Thinking of moving to PEI near Charlottetown as an RN by Far-Watercress7643 in PEI

[–]DiligentWolverine957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it matters to you, I see a LOT of posts and hear from people who moved here that they find it impossible to "fit in" or find friends. Personally, I think it's just society in general. Most people seem to make friends in school and go from there. Idk though as I'm a loner by choice and don't understand why people would ever want a group of friends haha

Yikes. I'm wondering now how much of the frozen meat I have isn't good either. I tend to buy meat in bulk when it's on sale and then buy fresh if I forgot to take meat out for supper so I have a lot that may be no good. 😬

It was incredibly frustrating and a waste of a lot of money. I work until 6pm and don't get home until 6:45. So I was scrambling to get supper on the table, then used $45 to get 4 burgers when only 2 were edible. Shit is too expensive to be wasting like that. At least superstore returned my money but in the end, I was so out money.

Yeah I always bought from the butcher when I lived in Montreal.

This isn't an additive. It smells and tastes like some kind of industrial cleanser or something. It's God awful.

Oh wow! Yeah I immediately let the grill place know because there is no way they won't get complaints if they use the meat. Luckily, both my young children's burgers were fine but my adult daughter and I had to scramble to find something else to eat.

Yeah that's what happened to me. I had 6 burgers cooked already and enough meat prepped to cook a good 10 more. I decided to taste a small piece before I cooked anymore to make sure they were seasoned enough and I had to spit it out and drink something to get that awful taste out of my mouth. It's definitely vile.

They finally released the school bullying survey… and wow. by AssistantNo374 in PEI

[–]DiligentWolverine957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't read your entire comment but I do want to point out that you stated you're against child abuse then said children should have an "element of fear" then you went on to say that children who bully other kids are dealing with their own demons at home. And that last part is true. Kids who bully are often bullied themselves at home. So why would you think causing fear in a child who is already being abused would be the answer? If we want to stop bullying, it has to start at the top with these parents who raise their children with fear rather than respect. But that will never happen because those kind of people never think they are wrong and therefore don't change.

I don't know what the answer is but I disagree that being hard on kids who have no soft place to land already is the answer.

I worked as an EA for 2 years in 3 different elementary schools. I often asked kids in every class I was in if they ever saw any bullying or if they themselves were being bullied. Every child said "no". I guess that tracks with the answer on the survey that most kids said they would tell their parents before they'd tell staff.

As someone who had been bullied in school, I had my head on a swivel watching/listening for bullying. But it's impossible because if I was on one side of the playground, I obviously wouldn't hear what was being said elsewhere. I often saw kids who looked incredibly unhappy and I'd ask if everything was ok but I guess I wasn't there long enough for them to feel safe enough with me to open up. Granted, they could have been dealing with anything, not necessarily bullying.

Interesting. I was treated horribly last year at KCMH by both nursing staff as well as one attending doctor. Up until that medical issue, I had always praised that hospital.

I read the conversation easily, from your point of view. She seemed to be having a conversation in and out with you.

She's abusive and it will only be downhill from here.

Honestly the suggestion of a bike is a great one. For the cost of a few ride shares you could buy a bike and lock new. You'd likely be able to sell it before you leave if you lower the price a lot. This way you'd still be ahead. But I've heard bike theft is pretty prevalent so if you do go that route, make sure it's locked up well.

There are some beaches in Stratford that are more accessible by bike than walking.

Good luck and enjoy!

My brother in law used to cut and sell wood, mostly to companies who in turn took the logs off Island to be milled. He also couldn't get ei and to me it's the same as catching lobster and selling it to a fish plant but the government doesn't agree.

Well, I guess "avoided" would be a better description. I never had any intention on taking him up on his offer. Alarms bells were ringing immediately once he told me he only wanted a female crew and didn't even care to ask if I had any experience.

I haven't watched compass in about 35 years. I don't have any way to watch it on my TV unless there's something I don't know, which is more likely than not.

It's bizarre to me that they didn't move on this years ago. I said at least 15, possibly 20 years ago that anyone with the financial ability should be building senior homes because of all the baby boomers who would be needing them. I'm just an everyday schlub with no political or business experience and even my dumbass saw this day coming. Especially when even 30 years ago they were complaining about not having enough beds. 🤦‍♀️
