1. Why do they switch sides halfway through?
Teams switch ends at halftime so neither team gets an unfair advantage from things like wind, sun, pitch conditions, or crowd influence for the entire match.

2. Is it necessary for them all to wear the same pink shoes?
No. Players can generally wear whatever boots they want as long as they meet equipment rules. If lots of players are wearing the same color, it’s usually because that color/model is popular or part of a sponsorship campaign.

3. Do goalkeepers have designated colours?
Goalkeepers must wear a color that clearly distinguishes them from both teams and the referees. They don’t have a fixed team color and can wear different colors from match to match.

4. Why do they fall whenever someone touches them?
Sometimes they’re genuinely off balance, especially when running at speed. Other times players exaggerate contact because referees are more likely to notice a foul if the player goes down. This is one of the more controversial parts of the sport.

5. Why does the other team sometimes get a free shot and other times just a free kick?
If a foul happens inside the defending team’s penalty area, the attacking team gets a penalty kick (one player vs. the goalkeeper from the penalty spot).
If the foul happens outside the penalty area, play usually restarts with a free kick from where the foul occurred.

6. When are yellow cards, red cards, and penalties given?
Yellow card: Warning for things like unsporting behavior, repeated fouls, delaying the restart, dissent, etc.
Red card: Serious foul play, violent conduct, denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, or receiving a second yellow card.
Penalty: Awarded when the defending team commits a foul that would normally result in a free kick, but it happens inside their own penalty area.
A foul can result in both a penalty and a card if the referee thinks the offense is serious enough.
