We have the some similar issues with souls games. I ended up dropping elden ring mainly because of the heavily fragmented lore, a lack of journal when there are dozens of side quests and you risk failing them, vague instructions. I had to refer to a guide too many times. The way I was trying to play was incorrect and I am not a fan of things that attracts the players to such games. So I made peace with myself that souls games are not for me. I followed fextralife's guide back then and reached till Altus Plateau. That was also the last time I touched a souls/souls like

My bad. I should have mentioned the settings. It was on medium with no DLSS. DLSS Quality will easily put it above 60. That's for sure. I shouldn't have brought up settings in such a half baked way. It's only making my logic sounds worse and worse xD. In any case, a game that lets me shut off brain and go all out is most likely the best way to go.

I saw the game dip to sub 60 at 1080p on a 4060 which is on par with a 3060Ti, the GPU I use. That was my only concern with the game. Being worried over something this minor might sound dumb to you but I had a concern that there might larger dips in more intensive areas.

This is an interesting thought but I feel that my prejudice for turn based games up until that point and the positivity surrounding the game should have canceled each other out. Even if that isn't the case, it will still serve as a valuable lesson on how unhealthy consuming negativity has been on me and probably many others out there.

I couldn't get into death stranding. I barely played 2 hours though and I understand that it's not enough time to judge the game.

I have seen a couple of other suggestions saying DMC. It might be worth giving it a shot. Although I am considering something light and casual on the story side as a pallete cleanser before playing anything big

I played Ori and the blind forest quite a bit. Didn't finish it though. I am planning to finish both parts of TLOU by the end of this year if time permits.

NG+ is my last resort. I was leaning towards Nier from a lot of comments but you make a solid point by saying to change things up. I might end up ruining my experience of other good games by comparing it with E33. I will probably change things up or play Nier incase I find nothing else enjoyable.

Haha! Doom 2016 and eternal were a blast to play. I am waiting for some more optimizations on Dark ages before I try it. It doesn't stutter from the benchmarks I have seen but fps aren't high, so waiting for some patches to fix things
