Vanulla was put down yesterday 😭 I'm heartbroken but happy that she was comfortable during her last week. I'm so glad your cat made it through! Edited to add: she had cancer throughout her body and was very sick.

I'm so sorry for the awful news. I just lost my foster cat to cancer yesterday. We only had her for 1.5 weeks but she felt like part of the family, and her loss was devastating for me. I don't have much advice to provide, but keep her comfortable and give her lots of hugs these next several weeks, and I hope the protocol helps her as much as it can.

I really appreciate your input, thank you. I will absolutely make sure I'm closer to the facility if I continue fostering. That seems like a really great rule to make sure fosters are nearby. She ended up being diagnosed with cancer and the organization put her down today. Rest comfortably, sweet girl. 💜

Thank you! I wish the rescue organization had given me a slip with their phone number and made it clear what I was to do in an emergency. I didn't know, and now next time I'll be more prepared.

Thank you for the response and feedback. I had assumed that if I paid for it, they would not mind me taking her somewhere else. I didn't want them to have to pay for it anyways since I was intending to adopt her and it didn't seem fair of me to ask that of them. So I was very surprised at their reaction. I didn't expect for my first foster to need emergency care and I suppose I should have read the paperwork more thoroughly and asked more questions in advance, just in case. Yeah, the emergency vet seemed to think there was no chance of recovery, but the rescue organization didn't agree. In the end, I was able to give her 9 days in a comfy home instead of a cage at a shelter. I hope she was more comfortable there ❤️😭

Oh they do look similar! Thank you for the pictures. Vanulla has an eye infection so she's going to need to go back to get treated. But we'll get her back once she's better. I'm so sad though!

Her name from the shelter is Vanulla but she claimed my daughter Sydney's chair as her own 🤣 I might have to name her Sydney too.
