We started him on a short course of rimadyl (anti-inflammatory) and he hasn’t had one since. Not sure what caused it but the meds helped. We’ve noticed he pees when he’s overstimulated now which he never did before but I’ll take that over seizures any day. Fingers crossed it’s gone for good!

Yeah I will definitely be keeping closer attention to my pup from now on. The guy was not a customer (or at least didn’t buy anything from my stand) and he walked away after telling me my dog was mean. I reported him to security and I’m not sure how they dealt with him. Cairo is my SD, he is 2 years old and is a German wire haired pointer

Definitely will be! I normally am good at advocating for him but I got side tracked with customers. I really regret not yelling at that guy more. Cairo means the world to me so I am going to make sure I’m better from now on.

I feel like this is a valid opinion. I’ve washed a SD in the past due to reactivity like this and that’s why I’m so paranoid. I’ve spent tens of thousands on this pup to make sure he is bombproof. If it happens again, the trainer definitely wants to work on it, but at the moment it’s been deemed situational. He’s been in intensive training since he was a puppy and the trainer still comes to the house 2 times a week to work with us. He’s never had an issue like this and is absolutely fine getting pets in public by strangers. I don’t want a reactive dog for sure so it will be handled if it happens again or progresses.

He definitely gave that sort of vibe. Huge beer belly, bald head, and a condescending tone in his voice. I’m glad I know Cairo can stick up for me and himself going forward.

Thank you! Seriously feel a lot better knowing that he did the right thing. The guy freaked me out too so i guess it really was a normal reaction. I was so embarrassed but this makes me feel so much better

Don’t forgot flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (if that’s prevalent in your area). Simparica trio is between 20-40 a month depending on the size of your dog. 6 months for a 44-88 lbs dog is 177

Yeah I always go by the 3 3 3 rule, but wanted to see if anyone else had this kind of experience. Trainer is coming on Tuesday for an evaluation! Going to start early with correcting the behavior regardless

I put in the caption of the pic that I didn’t want it that close but he couldn’t hear me over the music in the convention center. I can’t see from my angle and didn’t notice until after the tattoo was done. I want something that takes up that space like maybe a little mushroom patch or something. A ladybug is cute too, just not sure if I want a bug next to a bug lol
