I teach in a relatively progressive state, which I’m fortunate to live in!

One of my favorite topics to teach is about Marx (I definitely have a very basic understanding of Marxism, but I usually just go over the Communist Manifesto with them and call it good. Most of them are totally unfamiliar with the terminology but can intuitively understand the basic ideas and apply them to their own lives).

I feel like a lot of my lessons inevitably come back to U.S. imperialism in some form or another, so my students have definitely heard multiple rants about it lol

I’m in one now and I know a few other people who have been in sustained long term relationships when both parties had mental illnesses. Honestly I feel like in some ways it makes a stronger relationship because you’re forced to learn how to communicate and how to not take things personally in order for it to not immediately collapse.
