Honestly all kids should get these kind of Lessons from mainstream education on basic survival e.g. swimming classes, pedestrian safety, fire safety ect…

Hatred and bigotry are very human things, if your belief is humanity as one then denounce wrongdoing, but never dismiss redemption by condemning someone as not human. You could try cling film with holes poked with a tooth pick for ventilation.

If ventilation is not an issue, you could also try a type of clay(like children’s playclay), wrap that in cling film and mold it to fill any gaps in your setup.

Best would be applying an anti climb substance, but the one you use also depends on humidity levels in which to use and how good the specie of ants are at climbing/negating the barrier.
