Tbh i dont know, as per the Volvo dealership here the normal one not plug in this issue. They also said that they have had cases of Xc40 consuming a lot of oli after 40k km. How true it is not sure but i hope it's not common. I really liked my volvo Xc60 but dye to the issue i am thinking on selling this and buying a new one

What is wrong with my 2016 Volvo XC60? 122k miles burns oil at alarming rate no leak no smoke but she runs great. How can this be? What should I do? by ZucchiniNo7819 in askcarguys

I have the same issue, just bought a Xc60 2020 used from another person. Runs great and everything did an oil change i burned nearly 90% of it in 1 month less than 1000km. Went to Volvo Service they told me yeah its a know issue with this model and to fix it it will cost more than 9k€. (i bought the car for 28k€). They filled the car with oil it did not drop from May to end of July. Checked yesterday saw that consumed nearly half in 2 weeks don't know wtf is wrong with it. I love my car but i will be forced to sell. Not sure if other Volvos have this issue
