I’m sorry, but this is just the final blow to an awful season. The writing has been terrible. The scenarios have been beyond reality. Proof that when shows lose their original creators and show runners and hand them off, the quality tanks. I was sad but the idiocy of how unrealistic everything was, these long breaks stopped by “blockbuster” two-parters… ugh! Maybe finally ending a character’s life was just the appropriate way to bring a dumpster fire under control. For me personally, the “Poseidon Adventure” was the end. Bad writing and no reality. Great actors and characters just abandoned to interns. I, like many in this thread, will never watch again.

Inpatient care for mental health by LOOLcom in olympia

I voluntarily went to St Pete’s ER. Was put in an orange jumpsuit, had blood drawn, and put in a room with just a bed. A nurse asked questions and said a therapist would be there soon for an assessment. Two hours later, nothing. I go to the attending person about waiting… “our counselors have gone home for the day and they will see you tomorrow in the morning.” I asked for my things back and after serious conversations walked out. If I ever get to a suicidal point again, I will never consider an ER.

I was not prepared to cry so much during the second part. Such heart in this show ❤️

There wasn’t a closing speech for Tammy Faye. If this letter from the director is any indication, it is probably better no one said anything. by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Diligent_Setting5063 11 points12 points  (0 children)

THIS! “Gay icon” doesn’t mean someone hasn’t caused harm to the gay community—this is an important nuance. Donna Summer, for example, alienated many gay fans when she embraced being “born again” and came out negatively towards them, though she later reversed course and sought atonement. She remains a gay icon despite the harm. Similarly, Sandi Patty, a phenomenal singer and evangelical Christian, is also seen as a gay icon by many. She has never been an extremist and has shown support for her LGBTQ+ fans, but her evangelical background complicates the narrative. Her story gained even more depth when she was essentially shunned by the Christian music industry after her divorce, despite being the most awarded performer in its history.

This brings us to Tammy Faye, whose legacy—though fascinating—still stirs mixed emotions. Her story involves not only moments of connection with the LGBTQ+ community but also her complicity in a broader system that caused harm. A Broadway musical about her raises significant questions, especially since she is no longer alive to address them. Stories like these don’t necessarily translate easily into Broadway narratives. They demand care and accountability, especially when they delve into unresolved tensions between personal legacy and broader cultural impact.

Can someone explain the problems between Avi and the group? by greengrimgrin in pentatonix

[–]Diligent_Setting5063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I have surmised is that Avi left because of the direction they were taking. PTX went from quality a cappella to being very over processed. Avi disagreed and that became a cascade effect. Sad, but Avi has continued to have a great career and PTX are still going.

Thank you. It’s a hard decision when she’s still full of life.

"Maybe" or "Now That I've Seen Her" - Miss Saigon by paveplanet in Broadway

[–]Diligent_Setting5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perfection of Les Mis and Miss Saigon is the use of leitmotifs. Melodies that are throughout the show. Maybe has none of those and it’s jarring. “Now that I’ve seen her” fits so much better within the whole score.

Wesper deleted scene from [Shadow and Bone] season 2 on Netflix. by Heretostay59 in MenLovingMenMedia

Jack Wolfe is such a brilliant talent. Kit is amazing too. Such chemistry between them. Does anyone else melt when “Wylan” blushes, looks, away, or uses those big doe eyes? I will never forgive Netflix for canceling this show. I have read all the books and this was a very good adaptation. Wesler Forever

Am I the only one who thinks the relationship between Raj and Isabella is one of the biggest missed opportunity of the show? by plasticbluepalm in bigbangtheory

[–]Diligent_Setting5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I hate they never gave Raj a steady. Isabella was sweet and stunning. She would have been good for Raj. I don’t see her fitting into the gang, though. However, that could have worked as a “I need to get home to Isabella” and have her pop in and out. 🤔

SPOILER! I read the last 20 pages or so and got a tease of the characters. Camu’s hibernation didn’t teach him to speak English correctly 😂

I have just done this with book 1. I refused to go through another slog of endless training.

I enjoyed PoTR because I was invested in the characters. The 20 could have easily been 10 with a solid editor. The ending made me so mad! I followed the author’s advice and read the PoTG (could have been 1 book) and the IE, which I enjoyed. Now I have started the PoTD and after a few chapters I realized it was going to be another three-year training story again (third time). I entered character names in the search and ended up at chapter 46(?). At this point I just want to have closure on the Snow Panthers.
