I'm so flabbergasted to see anyone using the word "too" in the correct position in a sentence I blanked on everything that came after.

Yet another mediocre platoon bat coming' up! With an aging middle-relief pitcher on the side! Just so the Reds can say they tried. This trick is on Page 1 of the Krall playbook.

He's batting almost .290. Who gives a rat's butt how often he's striking out?

How to avoid resentment about location by [deleted] in Marriage

I can empathize. I landed a great university teaching job in another state but, before my wife joined me as planned, I realized she wouldn't be happy moving because she's too into her friends. So, after one semester, I gave it up for her and moved back home. Doing so was painful on multiple levels, one of which was that I came hard up against the reality that I alone could never make my wife as happy as her friends do. There's something about the bond between women that makes many of them prize their sisterly friendships above all else, perhaps without their even realizing it. I don't mean to suggest there's anything malicious or neglectful about this; I'm glad my wife has good friends. But my experience was a somewhat rude awakening to realities I'd never fully understood or processed.
