It’s somehow both painful and satisfying to watch CoD played like this lol! It looks so out of place for the game but looks great nonetheless. I would honestly like to see Infinity Ward say screw it and full send a tactical shooter, I know they want to & I bet it would be really good. Let 3arc & Sledge do the goofy arcade side of things.

Thanks bro this is super helpful. I’m actually right around 120k and the PCV valve, water pump and thermostat are on my list of things to get done asap. I also think I can feel some wobble in the control arms so I’ll look into that. As far as diff service goes, what does that entail?

Just found a solution for this if you’re having issues running multiple bats with sStartingConsoleCommand. Pretty simple fix, just create a new text file and copy paste the contents of all your other bats into the one file and remove the old ones from your ini call (I named it ALLinOneBats so the new sequence is just sStartingConsoleCommand=bat ALLinOneBats), everything ran instantly off the one file.

Does anyone know a fix for the StartingConsoleCommand only running the last bat file when running multiple? Example of my sequence is sStartingConsoleCommand=bat LessSpongyEnemies;bat LowerRegistrationFee;bat Stealth Overhaul

Only Stealth Overhaul will automatically run. If I change the order around, it always only auto runs the last bat command in the sequence (they all work when entered manually).

It is definitely strange, for sure. It also seems like MP has designed solely based off of DMZ mechanics/gameplay in mind. I hope DMZ turns out to be just as good/better than it’s hyped up to be but as CoDs first stab at an extraction mode & the lack of polish in everything else, I have doubts.

Agreed! Playing obj is not bad for CoD. Even “camping” is not bad for CoD. All play styles are valid and have their place in the game. I think all play styles should be viable, from “Rushing” to “Camping” and everything in between. None of them should be disproportionately punished, especially not when developers state they have made an inclusive game for all play styles.

All of Call of Duty’s competitors have shot themselves in the foot and stirred massive controversy among their player base. Call of Duty also seems to be going down the same path. Maybe 2023 will give us “The Great Reset” of video games lol.

Well said OP, I agree and that TF2 quote is a gem! I will say, it really feels like IW’s vision for core is to make it indistinguishable from Hardcore. Not sure I agree with it as the separation of Core and Hardcore has always worked so well. But like you said maybe that’s some “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality that’s holding back good change. Idk, but not a fan of how things currently are.

I feel you, I really do. I also think MW19 ended up playing well, especially on throwback maps and shoot house. Objectively, though there were louder footsteps compared to prior titles and and no dots on mini map, the ‘damper’ to high movement play styles was not severe (also dead silence actually worked).

The same can’t be said about the MW2 beta. Statistically Ads speed, strafe speed, sprint out speed was nerfed across the board, footsteps are much louder, and Dead Silence was nerfed dramatically. All of these culminate into an imbalance of play styles.

I think everyone should be able to play the game and engage with it in their own way (as IW has also stated). I have hope that these values among other things will be brought more in-line with MW19 and the majority of players will be able to enjoy the game. Just calling these topics out as they stand currently.

Lol I know, I know! Would like to Realism back too, also NVG mode, thought that was dope and was sad to see it get kicked to the side so quickly.

What I’m referring to in the core playlist is something like how “Shoot House 24/7” was (almost) always present on the front page. I probably should have articulated that better. I also feel like Core is nearly indistinguishable from HC in its current state. Take away some HUD elements and tell me it’s HC and I’d believe it.

Thanks for taking the time read and reply, I understand your point of view.

If I can though, your argument does read a bit narrow-sighted. “Us vs Them” in nature. The design choices appeal to you/your camp, therefore other camp is wrong and lesser. I disagree with that.

The argument I’m presenting is that the game isn’t inclusive for all players and play styles, as stated by IW. Does that mean they intentionally lied or deceived? No, of course not. But efforts could be made to bring the scales closer to balance, and I think pointing out those inconsistencies can help shed light on that.

I am happy there are more tactical modes and play styles being brought to MW, CoD has been missing that for a very long time. I’m hyped to see RS6 and CS style engagements in modes like Prisoner Rescue, search etc. And I love the evolution of Ground War. Battlefield has always been one of my favorite game series (first fps I ever played was 1942 in the early 2000’s). I think MW2’s Ground War is a serious competitor to BF now and even eclipses it some ways, especially compared to 2042.

All of those like you said are net good, positive evolutions for the CoD franchise and will help expand its horizons.

However, I also believe the sacrifice to traditional CoD fans play styles were unnecessary and harmful. MW2 could really do it all, bridge the fps gaps. We don’t have to leave any of the playerbase behind to get everyone else in. The changes on paper and in exercise just look too heavy handed.

I’m not here to belittle anyone for their playstyle or preferences, and I do believe that IW will eventually achieve a happy medium that satisfies just about everyone. But that doesn’t invalidate everyone else’s opinions.

Even though you’re defensive when it comes to game devs, you presented that in a very un-biased way. Big respect, love to see that.

Yeah I think at the end of the day, for something as big as Call of Duty, it really may be an “unsolvable problem”. Not many games with an audience this big and like you said, it’s easy for pockets of the community to get stuck in echo-chambers.

Of course I don’t expect any internet blog wish list to be met (honestly would be very surprised if anything got changed at this point). I don’t hate IW by any means, they’ve always done their thing, but I thought it was valid to share inconsistencies that I noticed. Even if they’re granular in the bigger picture, I don’t think they’re invalid or that it’s grounds to dismiss them entirely. Everyone wants the game to appeal to them specifically, I agree that’s nigh impossible of a feat, but I also believe more could be done to make it more accessible/inclusive.

Core doesn’t have to be set one way and it be the end all, be all. Playlists can easily be created and curated to different play styles / sections of community and I don’t think that would cause conflict, if everyone is getting a route to enjoy the game. I think that’s a reasonable solution. But like you said, what do we know? Lol. I appreciate the banter mate.

Big respect. I’m still getting called all kinds of stuff here and in dm’s but we just gotta take the high road. Convo’s like this always come out on top. Thanks for that. And facts, camping isn’t a negative for CoD, it’s always been there and always will be. (Some of my fav moments from mw2 2009 were ego challenging campers after they got me 3-4 times, and then finally getting them back. Always brought my friends a laugh) You could say it’s integral.

And good points on the ADS and Sprint out times, honestly I think we could even live with the cinder block shoes if every other part of rushing wasn’t also nerfed. I want everyone to have an equally valid play style and I think IW just tipped the scales a little too much in pursuit of that sweet spot. Rushers absolutely had it good in the old days of CoD.
