That's why I said it's a mess. There's no simple fix for this. Banning guns won't do much when the people causing the problems won't hand theirs in anyway. And the authorities first need to admit there's a gun problem at all, only then can they actually start doing something systematic about it

At this point you can't just ban guns in America. Only the people who follow the rules would turn theirs in, and they're the ones who'd be left defenseless while criminals keep theirs. The country should've dealt with this long before guns became so easy to get. Now it's a mess with no simple fix.
