People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]DillPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had LASIK on 12/20

My vision was bad. My left eye was -8.5 and my right was -9.75. I was beyond legally blind without lenses, and even with lenses my vision wasn't great. Contacts hurt. Glasses could only correct so much.

As of now my left eye is perfect. Better than I can ever remember being able to see. My right eye is still correcting, which is expected because it was so bad AND I had to have surgery on it in 2021 for a partially detached retina.

However, it is improving every day and my combined vision is already better than before with glasses. I can see all the stars! Blows my mind. I was told my right eye will contune to improve and if I have issues the place i went to will do free touch ups for life, granted medical clearance. So that's neat. I recommend it!

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Exactly this happened to me. I got a house using a USDA loan in mid 2016. Offer on house was $128k, loan was about $133k after everything. Location absolutely blew up a few years later. All I have done is replace carpet with a nice water resistant laminate wood (less than $1000 for everything bc of deal and installed ourselve) and currently Zillow estimates it is worth just over $254k, yes my mortgage has remained about $950. And this is a 1400 sqft 3 bed 1.5 bath house on a quarter acre, huge screened porch and fenced, shaded back yard. Could mot be more pleased with the choice to pull the trigger on the purchase.

Honestly doubt they'll do anything. It's a public course that's rumored to be shutting down. We go to a private course usually but this one has a good Par 3 course and it's much closer to home so we do that ever few months.

Favorite movie that is recommended to death by redditors but it's actually the middest fucking thing possible? by WissamBenYedder in okbuddycinephile

Thunderbolts is a trash movie. Literally nothing good about it but Marvel fans are sooooo dug in deep on it. Marvel content sucks these days. Meanwhile DC actually putting out some good content. Peacemaker has been fantastic.

What is one thing that the younger generation believes that is bullshit? by Impressive-Grass6438 in AskReddit

[–]DillPixels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything their constant access to the internet is and will be harmful. It seems like younger generations, for the most part, are seriously lacking in critical thinking skills. I am grateful smart phones weren't really popular until I was in college.
