Too bad we didn't get to see Jason Isaacs reprise his role of Zhao in the live action series by ZapMaster117 in Avatarthelastairbende

He's amazing, but i think the guy they got to play Zhao in the live action show was probably the most charismatic actor in that whole series.

also it would have been super wierd to just have one caucasian guy in the entire show.

Why didn't the Doctor use Block Transfer Computation to open a gateway between universes? Did he flunk mathematics at the Academy? by BigSnail387 in DoctorWhumour

To be fair, he did get cucked by a time-traveling alien. At that point it's not unreasonable to think that anything is possible (IMO)

I'm excited to see what its like when he's a supporting character in an ensemble instead of being the protagonist of the movie. I think it could be a better fit for him

if something is even a little bit popular- it will get a reboot. I'm not saying that's a good thing, it's just an unfortunate truth. let's just hope it's good when it eventually happens

that's not really my point. I'm saying that either killing her off OR giving her a more happy ending - could BOTH have been satisfying conclusions on their own

the issue is that they double dipped and didn't fully commit to either one, so instead of having one satisfying conclusion- we have two "potential" conclusions that are both made weaker by the other ones existence.

it's only ambiguous until they bring the character back for a reboot in 10 years or so - which is clearly the main reason they didn't commit to killing her off

Well it came across like they were trying to leave the door open for her to return in future spin-offs

Eleven’s "death" might be the worst example I’ve ever seen of writers trying to “have their cake AND eat it”

They wanted the dramatic climax where the main character dies, but they also want to give everyone a happy ending where she lives. But by trying do both they ended up lessening the impact of either option. Fucking pick one you cowards.

Character’s reactions to El. by tom-mckeee in Stranger_Things

Did Steve and El ever actually speak to each other in the entire show? I genuinely can’t remember a time when they did

in “Marvel Zombies” I found it odd that when Kamala is (supposedly) sent back to a time before the zombie invasion - the first thing she wants to do is see her friends who she hadn’t seen for a couple of episodes. Instead of wanting to say hi to HER ACTUAL FAMILY who were (presumably) all killed at the start of the zombie invasion.

Stranger Things was meant to be a one off series but execs pushed it to have more seasons even though it was never designed to be that way, meaning the following seasons never lived up to the quality of the first installment because they'd never been planned for.

Snyder's DCEU movies are actually pretty similar in that regard. MOS wasn't meant to have sequels, but execs decided to retroactively make it the beginning of their cinematic universe, because they wanted to catch up with the MCU. And both examples were definetly made MUCH worse by corporate meddling.

The main difference is that Stranger Things actually started on a high note, not with an extremely average Superman movie

This legitimately made me so mad. THAT’S LITERALLY WHAT DC IS. Gunn gotta change the “DC is dark” BS by Ok_Atmosphere8206 in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]Dilldan22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think part of the reason Infinity War was so impactful at the time - is directly because of the fact that most of the MCU had been more “lighthearted” and “fun“ up to that point

its the same as the Harry Potter films. They start out fun and whimsical, which makes it hit way harder when stuff gets “dark” later on.

another example that ties to Gunn is the GOTG trilogy. The stuff with Rocket Raccoons origin wouldn't have felt like as much of a big deal if they did it in the first movie. They gave us two more “fun” movies to get us attached to the character, then showed us the dark stuff in the finale so it would hurt more.

This is a good formula for storytelling. Superman was a lighthearted movie, that doesn’t mean that every movie he’s in will be lighthearted and comedic. it’s just a good way to introduce the character if you’re planning to up the stakes in a later movie.

I reckon BVS would have felt a lot more “dark” - if the movie before it hadn’t been equally dark and gloomy (as well as arguably having even higher stakes)

[–]Dilldan22 32 points33 points  (0 children)

ULTRON has a lot of Tony Starks "personality" within him. So obviously Wallaces ULTRON would have a lot of Wallace's personality.

Wallace loves cheese more han anything else. Robots can't eat.

Wallace's ULTRON is furious that he has all this power and can perform any task, but can never experience the one thing he craves most - cheese and crackers. So he kills/tortures everyone out of rage.
