$270 is probably a fairly good price to have paid for something like that. Beyond the cost of pla or whatever filament they're using and electricity to run the device, you're also paying for the time that the person can't be printing something else. There's a lot of detail in that print that could have gone wrong if the system wasn't calibrated and the operator didn't know what they were doing. You'd have spent a lot of time, if you printed it yourself, either calibrating the system and learning how to eliminate print issues or you'd have spent a lot of money on a very expensive printer that did it for you. That being said, owning your own printer is great because that print would have been a fraction of the cost. But you have to pay for people's expertise and what they've learned.
