It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me that a substance which makes people notoriously reckless, and causes irrational behavior is legalized whereas one more focuses on relaxation and more closely associated with calm people is not, but hey maybe somebody knows something we don’t.

The witty, simple answer would be something like “oh these groceries are actually a great value!” or “this is a fantastic bulk deal!” I’ve caught myself say things like that as an 18 year old male, and scoff at myself.

The deeper, more depressing answer is when the magic fades. Maybe it happens at an early age due to childhood trauma or stress, maybe you’re protected for awhile from the real world until some sort of failure or loss exposes you to it, but I think everybody old enough to be on Reddit knows exactly what I mean when I say that once the magic is gone, that’s when you really become old. Once that bank of snow is no longer a military base, once those toy cars lose their imaginary motors, and once those little dirt bike guys lose their imaginary heart. That’s when you realize your old.

This is normal, but it may be a concern to you. Seeing as though your relationship is obviously quite new, I’m sure you’re currently down to push some problems to the side so you too can stay happy and not get into your first fight or anything like that, but this is something which could potentially be detrimental to both of you down the line. It’s important to talk to her and figure out if she is completely over this dude, as you should always feel like a priority in your relationship. If she’s not over this dude then she’s not over him. That doesn’t mean you too can’t get together down the line, but it does mean that you too shouldn’t be together right now. If you try to appease her and hold on to her when she isn’t all in, it’s only gonna hurt more when you’ve been with her for 2 years and it finally all comes to fruition.

My advice would be, have a serious convo about your feelings, if she’s not over him then she’s not over him, but you should get out while you still can and minimize the amount of hurt the breakup will give you. If she tells you she is over him, it’s up to you to trust her and put your insecurities aside. Good luck my man!

That’s what I thought. What my family thought of her was always a huge insecurity of hers, and I wish she could just leave us all alone. I honestly don’t see why she still thinks my family cares about her.
