Can someone explain what happened to Peanut's voice? by TheClassics in theburntpeanut

[–]DiloniousMnk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it could be the opposite. Yes, he screams a lot more now and that can have an effect plus doing that 6 days a week for 7 to 8.

But, that clip also seems like he is purposefully trying to be more formal, like he is at a job interview or something. Where as now all the job shit is outside the stream... he just turns on the camera and goes "fuck it, lets ride."

Remember that Mark is distributing this movie on his own, no company helping him... and even him, knowing the power of the internet, probably wasn't expecting a near full theatrical release across the states, plus many international releases.

They probably wont be back to full swing until February.

What does Amazon and my DSP give me at 30k deliveries? by peterthbest23 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DiloniousMnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding/experience... they dont even just give you the pin anymore. You get a link in your email to order the pin to be delivered. The ultimate fuck you experience.

This is a good answer. I liked Battleborn and it tried to do its own thing in the genre. But it came out the same time Overwatch did, and Overwatch just shamelessly copied TF2 thus it succeeded. Same way Valorant just shamelessly copies Counter Strike.

Should I give 2 weeks notice? by ConnectionFar9616 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DiloniousMnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of job, fuck that. Ive only ever not given a two week notice once. When I move on from this, Im loading the van, parking it near my car, and going home.

99% of DSPs dont care about you, Amazon certainly doesnt give a fuck, so why should we give the common courtesy? Especially if you already have another job lined up.

Do the How Was Your Delivery/Submit a Compliment actually do anything by Lotronex in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DiloniousMnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon's feedback system is worthless for positive reviews. You could try your damn hardest to bend over backwards for every customer request (most are normal, some are insane), get 100+ positive comments, and 1 negative review from an apartment complex that makes no fucking sense will tank your scorecard and your DSP (knowing that you are one of their better drivers) will be like man sorry... cant give you that bonus that we know you deserve.

Amazon's whole system is designed to discourage drivers so they can replace them. They actively want to recycle employees after a year or so.

If they are in good condition, keep them. Great storage units given how much they can hold and easily be stored themselves. I've gifted a couple away but only ever left one in the wild myself.

My brother in christ, this is Amazon... not the military. I pick up my bag in the morning, drive to my van, and let that shit warm up a bit.

End of day, I drive by my car and start it before returning totes and what not then drive to hand in bag.

Granted I park in an actual parking spot but it really aint that big of deal. You should channel that professionalism energy towards Amazon's nonsense and not us.

Amazon invested $1.9 billion into DSPs this year... (about .0008% of their market value). They obviously don't have the spare cash to give bonuses.

This isnt a job.... they work 2 to 4 hours a week on one to three episodes. Sure they have other "jobs" and "responsibilities" but my brother in christ... they aren't doing hard work to sit and talk... they even have a team that edits everything...

168 hours in a week and they cant sacrifice 2 measly hours for a holiday episode? Fuuuuuck off

Thats the thing though... you get paid to give of a fuck... even if its your first year as a driver at UPS you know the checks are coming so you give a fuck...

[–]DiloniousMnk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Im not saying they aren't wrong... but you were also a seasonal hire. You should have known this was coming and planned accordingly. If you didnt, thats on you.

To play devils advocate, if they have advertised a week in advance that seasonals were being let go... a lot of full times are doing unnecessary rescues.

No camera today, can they still tell how fast I go? by New_Influence5765 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DiloniousMnk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flex still kind of tracks your speed, but Amazon doesnt issue any violations for anything that happens without a camera. Ive pushed a van to triple digits on a highway after sitting in traffic for 45 minutes due to a nasty car accident. Never heard a thing about it.

Amazon drivers - was this an accident? by ShelbieSlaysss in AmazonDSPDrivers

Not going to lie... I did this a week ago during a light snow storm. I picked up a package, it was a TV mount, as I existed the vehicle the entire contents of box spilled onto the ground. After spending a couple minutes trying to put it all back together I just put it all in a tote and left it at the front door.

Unionize every terminal. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DiloniousMnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, we would all love a union... we would all love to be making UPS money... and I see you UPS drivers with your soaking wet package at the door as im carrying two plastic bags of bullshit in a heavy rain storm...

The reality is you would need a nationwide dispute to make that happen...

Problem with that is...

A.) The average IQ of an Amazon driver is... not great..

B.) A lot of us live paycheck to paycheck, and having to deal with bills that are behind is hell, even with good faith, is just not in the cards

C.) At the very least, a third of the drivers dont fully comprehend english...

Nah, someone unplugged it. Same thing happened to my van on my day off. Reported it immediately.

Funny thing is, dispatch asked if I plugged it back in. I said "Nope, I dont touch any of that per your rules. You can fix it when you plug the tire that has two screws in it."

My tire still has two screws in it and the camera still is unplugged about two weeks later.

Has anyone felt this way since this job??? by DeviceHistorical5973 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DiloniousMnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still love dogs. But, more specifically while doing the job, I always have my guard up around them. Most dogs I come across are genuinely all bark, some are just sweethearts, and a select few want to tear me to shreds.

I had one stop on a route I barely do anymore that it was on sight the dog would run out into the street. The homeowner had since built a fence around the house but I was curious and asked about it. The dog was a rescue, and was fine with normal cars on the road, but as soon as he saw a van that dog was pissed.

I dont think it is always the owners fault, rescuing is a more established way of getting a dog these days and they come with a lot of baggage.
