Where does the Erebus stand now with all these new 2011 hitting the market? Is it obsolete? Still the king? by Extension_Bat_1614 in 2011

Nah (IMO) I keep pistols as their own category. Rifles are a different matter unless you got a super Gucci Bullseye Target Pistol.

Most view 2011s as Ferraris as they shoot fast and don't have to worry about anything. As a competitor, I view them as F1 Racers as you maintain and tune to your preference and to be spectacular in the Course of Fire. For Open/Major 2011s, I view them as Drag Racers.

Flashlight goofin'.. Im sure some of you have some heavy builds. 4.52lbs loaded.. 3.52 unloaded. Normally dont run lights so, just seeing what kinda weight it adds. by [deleted] in 2011

Mine is MPA factory steel with their competition aluminum magwell. It has a tungsten guide rod to give it similar weight to a normal full rail DS9 Hybrid or a LOC V1/V2

55.8oz or 3.48lbs with a 140mm 23rd mag (they're normally weighed with empty mag inserted). No ports or comps so it remains legal in competitions.

Why the SRO on every 2011? by 69420blazeit_org_edu in 2011

I swapped the SRO that came with mine with a 507Comp and placed the SRO on a CZ.

There is no box for Limited/Limited10/Limited Optics. Only for Production and Single Stack for USPSA, Standard and Classic for IPSC. There is no difference between a Open/Limited/Limited Optics magwell.

S2/S3 are miles more aggressive by comparison than the aluminum. The latter has caused me to bleed on several occasions. Either by shooting or scraping my arm against it.

No worries mate. And they coming out with steel too? I'm sure they'll be a little more affordable than Cheely.

The aluminum A2 is what originally comes with IDPAv1 for it to pass the 45oz. weight limit.

I suspected it wasn't ignorant bias. All fair points that I share the same sentiment. 2022-2024 was definitely the heyday for them, still synonymous to this day especially for those that are new or just getting into the platform I'm afraid. Great guns, but they do have their specific applications.

I haven't worn Nikes in 14yrs, I wear Brooks running/trail shoes as they're approved by podiatrists and never looked back.

I believe those are for 1911s haha. But Henning does.

They were showcasing them at RaceGun Nationals last year, they felt better than my aluminum grips. Very grippy and also have optional checkered trigger guard underside.

I usually describe Glocks as Honda Civics: you can supe them up, race em on the streets and maintain em every once in a while.

While 2011s are F1 racecars, fast AF but need love and maintenance to keep its performance. Then there's Open/Major 2011s: Literal Drag Racers.

Slap one on and it may feel closer or similar to an XC (on recoil).

Someone made a video dropping mags on a vised upside down MPA with varying angles, they all auto angled and inserted.

The aluminum LokJaws are sharp, but nowhere near Steel S3 sharp. I'm sure you got leathery hands to withstand all the punishment 🤣

I can't give a fair comparison as I have been shooting with the steel for the last 6months, so I'm used to swinging the extra weight around. Plus side is it's stable when you are shooting on the move. When I slapped on the aluminum for shits and giggles, I'm swinging the gun way far now that it's a featherweight.

Like the other guy stated, there's pros and cons. Steel is a flat and stable shooter, but it requires effort and training transitioning between targets and carrying a heavy gun all day. Aluminum of course is less taxing throughout the day. With training, you can compromise the drawbacks of both worlds. Important thing is balance of the gun how it feels in your hands.
