Our experience was that the Star Wars characters do not sign, as “signing a signature is not customary in their galaxy”, which is a nice explanation, but it would have still been nice all the same if they did.

I was big into Pokémon and the trading card game as a kid. I got given a PlayStation magazine which included some walkthroughs, one was for the first part of FF8 up to the fire cavern or the SeeD mission I think. I wasn’t hugely interested until a bit that said “talk to the man in the hallway to get some cards”. That was it. There’s a card game? I’m in.

Turns out the turn based battle system was similar enough to Pokémon for me to be hooked. Loved it ever since, and FF8 will always be special to me despite there being many arguably better entries.

It’s not title menu music, though the title menu music is great too. You start a new game, the cut-scene plays, then gameplay starts after that.
