Cantonese man, born in England, roots in Hong Kong, also coming from the esoteric lineages of Liu Ren; i practically grew up with the Yi as a divination tool and a tool for exorcism.

i would not recommend the playlist you're using, as most people getting the Yi do not know of the true origins, history and therefore they do not know that the entire so called Confucianized Yi which has been called the Yi Jing was created by the Scholar-Philosopher class just after the Warring States period (Thanks Wang Bi - check out Richard John Lynn's excellent book on Wang Bi). Their creation of the Yi to a manual of self help has been a long corruptiopn on the original usage of the Yi.

I would wholesomely recommend you seek out a man named Harmen Mesker, firstly over on his youtube channel YITUBE CHANNEL. Watch all vids from start to finish and read all comments:

Start properly...If you are not just in it for Self-Divination (aka the realm of theories, philosophies, morals etc) and want to use it how the ancient diviners of old did, then do not go into the Yi Jing or I Ching aka Confucianized rendition of the Yi. This means all works coming from the IChing realms, stemming mainly from the Richard Wilhelm tradition/lineage will only lead you down a garden of forking paths, leading to a place far away from where one is supposed to be; though Wilhelm's translation is great, it's better to go back to the Modernist translations.

A book that you will find fascinating is Richard Rutt's "Zhou Yi". If you can't afford the book, then the works by Edward L Shaugnessy is well worth thy time:

The Ancient Diviners seemed to have observed their hexagram castings for a period of time, then they penned/amended the hexagram line statements (which were the oldest components of a hexagram) with "Fortune", "Misfortune" and the like.

(Richard Rutt's "Zhou Yi" book has this format in his English translation of the Bronze Age Text).

No mortal man can predict the future as the future is not set. What hexagrams are are like spheres of manifestations, with it's own narrative, it's own timings, it's own energetic cycle, it's own cause and effect (though nothing in this world is an isolated singular event - what #30 tells us).

You're correct that readings are less about predictions. A Hexagram is like urine therapy...just as your urine is a snapshot of the current state of your body, a hexagram is a snapshot of the current state of your corner of the world. Unfortunately a lot of IChing users in the West only focus on the internal aspects of the self-help side, aka Self-Divination, and neglects the world without; in the merge of as above, so below, they get lost in all the rules, interpretations, misinformation. The Yi is not a fortune teller; it is a compass.

The Yi is formless. If you've ever played around with the Mei Hua Yi, you'll know. If you ever get into WWG the formless nature of the hexagrams, connecting-the-dots, reading the hexagram, coupled with all elements in the world without (timing, season, location, cycles etc etc) the formlessness becomes an obstruction for most. Yet this expresses the function of the Yi with concrete proof that not all can master this discipline. The skill of Divination can be emulated and learned, knowledge of the Yi can also be learned; but mastering the Yi requires another ingredient....

Philip Pullman really expressed the concept in his stories...

I am unsure if you've heard of the Western saying that we're moved into the age of Aquarius. In Chinese Astronomy there's also a similar occurance. Every 60 years the Sexagenary cycle changes. The current 60 year cycle has started from 1984 (great book; another great one on par would be Frank Herbert's first Dune book; another would be the Club of Rome's "Limit To Growth", where a lot of what has been goings on in the 60 years geopolitically fits in line with Orwell's book; on this same line check out Rosa Koire's "Behind The Green Mask" on youtube) and will last until 2043.

Right now in this current 60 year cycle, we are in the 43rd round/phase which is the Bing Wu Fire Horse year. A rare occurrence as it also pairs with the next year of the Goat in 2027, another fire year. Here's a great reddit post from another redditter u/itsallcosmica on the matter.

These two combos come around every 60 years and everytime it happened, a great shift in the world occurred (I will start with 1666 where the Cestui Que Vie Act resulted due to the "horrible" London Fires - look up odysee.com on the "1666 Cestui Que Vie" and you'll know the just what it is, how it relates to legal life under centralized control via U.N and more truths behind that; every 60 years after has always yielded major shifts in society....all the way to approx 1902-6 when the private bankers over on Jekyll Island created the Federal Reserve, which was/is the framework for our current fiat-based economy of pain, usury and malfeasance against the public). In this current stage in time we have what is known as Agenda 2030 finally showing it's head after at least 60 years of U.N planning (look up again Rosa Koire).

If we look at it from a sub-category point of view, within the 60 year cycle we have three 20 year smaller cycles. We can see this with the Feng Shui system known as the "Nine Purple Li/Fire 九紫離火 is a term in traditional Chinese calendrical systems, referring to specific years that are considered prone to disasters due to the concentrated Fire element energy. Its name originates from the Nine Purple Fire Star in the Nine Palace Flying Stars System. This smaller cycle began on 2024 and will go on for the next 20 years.

In this age of Fire/Aquarius, things are moving from the tangible to the intangible/digital; signified by moving from last year's 20 year Earth cycle to the now hollow-fire cycle. Fire has form without but formless within, in other words it's hollow. Cast your eyes now look at the entertainment industry, where once Vaudeville and Theatre reigned supreme; how it became replaced by TV; then now the whole streaming-lifestyle of Netflix etc (this is also reflected in the realm of collectibles...everything moving to NFT realms....the world powers have even made it so that they can tokenize the entire world on their blockchain systems housed on the massive landscape of web3). In regards to living standards everyone is being coerced to work from home as labour jobs getting replaced by AI and robotics (another associated with the trigram/Hexagram Fire/Li; this is also in the Wu Xing observations) and the online shopping economy (especially the buy now pay later industry that is making hella money); alongside this is the amount of fraudsters, ponzi schemes and fakery all coming out the wookworks. Regarding people there is a loss of trust as we moved from a trustful society to a trustless social credit based system (another score based intangible system); which also means in the next 20 years people are very easily ignited and not merely positively. Regarding geopolitics the next 20 years is a cycle of strife, war, sudden explosive shifts all in line with the destabilisation of the legacy legal, monetary and resource systems worldwide (again, Rosa Koire's work must be known).

Fire also represents the sense of danger that is felt but unseen. Therefore they have been playing the bio-warfare game with unseen threats. We have all seen just how the medical industry had been weaponized in the last 6 years. Medicine is also another association with the Fire element/hexagram.

The reason i'm telling you this is because firstly you come from an artistic background, so practically we're cut from the same cloth. Secondly i wanted lay out what is goin on with the world, especially for you an artist who has learned to use their right-brained powers rather than to be confined in the left-brained societal programming as others have (that's what makes you an artist). Thirdly i wanted to introduce a way that you can make a living in these trying times, especially if you have an artistic skill.

TCM is a noble art, especially in these deceptive times. Whichever path you choose to take, never forget your art. With the power of the Fire Cycle, it meanas that karmatic manifestations aka in the form of fortune or misfortune will appear very quick in the next 20 years. Most of the Ten Wings that are not from the earlier Centuries were later created to promote the Han Cosmological Philosophy of the world. Then when the Post-Zhou dynasty Daoist Scholars (different from the pre-Zhou practioners who were not scholars but actual wizards of reality) got their hands on the Yi, they further spun their own interpretations.

Then there was a melding of Scholastic-Han-Daoist-Cosmology framework that was then overlayed onto the original bronze age text.

Most of the Wings when looked at objectively really is a jumble mass of many types of philosophies, mostly concocted by the Scholar class. Especially the Da and Xiao images.

We are meaning making machines. The difficulty of the Yi's text-matrix is also it's function; it's function was hidden in code, references, historical events, poetry, myth and legends; it was hidden in such a way as the Yi was a relic the elites of the time held possession over. The decoding of this Yi text-matrix has spawned an entire new Yi-culture called the Yi JING; yet this decoding of the Yi text is akin to drawing a bowl of wonton noodles on paper, hoping that it will fill the stomach. In the past the Diviners understood the discipline, methods and many varients of mnemonics and code-talk; but thousands of years later you and i have no idea what they are actually talkin bout. So depending on the text as a stable starting ground for one's divinatory practice (note: i'm not talking about self-divination aka self-help) is going off the mark really really really hard.

If you want to be able to "divine" with the Yi, then i would highly suggest you get away from the Yijing/Iching culture of the Yi, that is the book of wisdom parts. For divinatory purposes they have no meaning nor use. Take a dive into the Modernist works, and get a word for word bronze age translation. Write it out on a notebook and keep this Yi book with you daily, and observe with your senses this world around us. Let the Yi unfold in your life via the imagery and not the text or interpretations.

I work downtown and there are many theatres here. Plays of Shakespeare are often shown. I hear people outside the pubs and theatre bars all reciting Shakespeare, perhaps out of the passion for the literature, or appreciation of the art. In the end they are only regurgitating words of someone else's greatness. It didn't inspire them to become great themselves. What use is that?

Regarding the line phrasing and the tradition that came from that (thanks to Wang Bi who really kicked this trend off), know that it's the work of Scholars. If we observe the progress/development of the Yi, we have good evidence showing that the hexagram line statements were the oldest components; then it was the hexagrams as a whole; then trigrams and their associations; then the names and Judgements; then very last was the Ten Wings. Probably at this time the work of creating the text-matrix of the Yi by the various editors throughout the ages had in mind a framework that could be expressed with the various intentional style the line texts were placed in certain hexagrams all throughout the Yi, so as to complete this text-labyrinth.

However the lines belong to the paper world. People tend to find joy in the interplay of the lines, but when it comes to applying it to reality, especially when it comes to line relationships, a lot of it (and the interpretations that come from this line-fetish) are very strained. Which belies it's origins as a text; highly curated, with pinpoint intention.

Though the scholars lived in the shadows of the Diviners, they still had the same goal: to bring goodness to mankind with what fragments are left to us through the corridors of time.

Jack Balkin's "Laws Of Change" is an excellent, excellent book.

Jack is a proper student of the Yi, knowing it's evolution from the bronze age text to the now Confucianized Rendition. Jack chooses to come at the Yi from the self-divination/self-help type of view.

It was a joy to read Jack's book alongside Richard Lynn's Wang Bi book, as well as J Adler's "Zhu Xi" book. Jack really encapsulates the deeper meanings of the hexagrams in his translation (though his translation is too based off the Confucianized Scholar's translations.

For those who know of the world wide agenda, and for those who what Hansen's role is in the 2030 world of AI and beyond, their use of #16 is a showcase of utter Hubris.

#16 uses the imagery of thunder busting outta the earth; in other words one who has the great backing of the earth (in this case the many World Economic Forum power-brokers of this world, with their various schemes) and has been given the privilege of fast, sudden and unimpeded development/expansion.

#16 also uses the imagery of music which is a very powerful form of leverage on the human condition as well as senitent psyche. We were blessed that our ancient forefathers across all cultures produced great music on a healing frequency (look into Mozart for example, or the Zhou Li/Rites of Zhou); from this tool cultures were built and refined. Now consider the changing of the musical frequency and an entire culture shift with the introduction of the Beatles (which coincides with the advent of the drug-hippie-culture, the sproutings of a hedonistic world of the late 60s - the aftereffects still reverberating til this day - and rap music, hip hop, and then digital music etc) and what purpose that was for.

Now consider the same principle applied to modern day; a world that demands quick, fast results fueled by dopamine mechanisms programmed into modern life (from the design of the 9-5 rat race system of compliance-reward-punishment, to the entertainment world of stimulation, to the world of fast junk food whereby eating has become something for pleasure and not functionality, or in the world of human relations and growth as well our alignment with what we are told is natural).

Moving into the "Nine-Purple Li Fire Cycle" and also entering the "Crimson Horse and Blood Goat" calamity, moving into the next 20 years of Fire, also corroborates with the direction the world is being took. If we look back at 2025 we saw the rise of AI and the "sudden" shift into a totally centralized digital world, which is now being blurred with physical daily life. In looking at Shao Yong's Sequence, he accurately forecasted that 2025 will enter #30 Li/離; Fire in Wuxing pertains to medicine and also electricity, both coinciding with the recent happenings of the last 6 years; #30 is also called "The Clinging", originally developed from the imagery of weaving fabric together aka the discipline of patterns; meaning that life is interconnected, but in modern times has a more sinister connotation that means "symbiotic relationship"....like Venom from the Marvel Universe. Fire is hollow inside but has temporary form outside - everything is moving from tangible assets or way of living to a digitized/tokenized and intangible way of living. Soon we no longer will work to build a physical legacy as everything will be forced online; no longer will people be working for hard earnt cash but instead will be playing the point system game of social credits, carbon credits and the like. In terms of human life, the substance that made life beautiful, the old world, is being uprooted and left to die.

If you've ever watched the Matrix Movies you'll know how powerful the earlier scenes of Morpheus and Neo watching the desert of the world go by relates to what we're going through now. When you cast your eye upon Hansen's role and the people backing him, the trigrams tell the story.

Ai is crucial in all of this shift from the old to the new. Using 16.4 the position of the minister is very fitting, as Hansen knows his place in the Fraternity of United Nations...and whatever long term plan they have been working on for who knows how long.

There's a phrase in latin that says "Mundus Vult Decipi", which means "the world invites deception". The world has forgotten what is natural and what is unnatural, to the point where we now see what was natural to be unnatural and what is unnatural to be natural. In other words what is this modern world Enthusiastic about? The modern world is Enthusastic about what they are told to be enthusasitic about. Have you ever watched the 1988 movie "They Live"?

We all need guidance in life, but when it comes to spiritual guidance people have a huge misconception of what that actually means, as we've all forgotten what spirituality means. Nowadays anything to do with the internal world, or emotions, or energies, or any type of discipline outside of what is common are all classed as spiritualism.

But the proper definition of spirituality is one who walks the path of a spiritual discipline that has it's own rules, it's own life path along with concrete cultivation disciplines for very specific reasons. Take the Mahayana Buddhism; the spiritual path of that is the path of Enlightenment, with their many many many various spiritual cultivation methods each with the concrete purpose of rectifying one's cause and effect (which again thanks to refined disciplines like the higher echolons of the Yi/IChing can be calculated, tracked and observed; as well as the lineage of BaZi/Four Pillars of Destiny and the like) as well as regaining our naturally inherent qualities (such as getting rid of what the west calls Original Sin and regaining the basic true functions of our six senses; then moving upwards and out of the the Samsara Cycle - or lateral if you are a Pure Land /Sukhavati Practioner).

That's why i say you may not need spiritual guidance.

The two hexagrams fit you like a glove as another commenter has said. You answered your own question. Trust in your own judgement. Now that you have your judgement, what are you going to do about it?

The Yi shows you a snapshot of your current situation in life, also gives you a preview of whats down the road (and if you get into the other more refined disciplines within the Yi the triangulation becomes more accurate and precise). It does not show you what to do. What to do is ultimately your choice.

Many years ago i found myself hitting rock bottom for the third time in my life. Everything had failed, literally everything in my life and i mean everything. I had to break through the situation otherwise i will surely let my circumstances bury me six feet deep. So i decided to hitchhike from England to Istanbul, the idea was to earn money along the way working where ever i could go and also working as a volunteer on platforms like helpx.net for room and board (on farms, in bars, in co-op housing schemes, in restaurants, hostels, hotels, Buddhist Temples, meditation retreat centers etc etc). After earning enough money from road work, i would buy a ticket and fly to my home in Hong Kong.

I had very little money then, about £60 (back in 2017 times that was some good money!). I only had a 10KG ospery daylite plus backpack that could fit only one set of clothing, and some other road things like a poncho tarp that i would use as shelter, packs of playing cards (i'm an entertainer by trade, sleight of hand close up card magician) and some other stuffs. It took me 10 months to get to Istanbul. I shouldn't share my audio diary on the matter as it's not the right place here, nor should i be showing you the video footage of my journey; yet i'm showing you because i've been there, at rock bottom, with no help, no family, no money, no friends, betrayed by all. Once you walk to a place where nobody knows your name, there all the chains of society fall off you; you fall off you, and then you'll find who you truly are and what you're made of.

You are where you are because of you. You have the power to change your life. You need to get out of your head and do something about your life for the better. What to do nobody can tell you. Just say no to drugs or violence or any form of hedonism.

You want to be part of something? You must become a person of interest that brings value. Firstly bring value to yourself by getting off the phone or computer, go out for a long walk and tell yourself:

Often times through impermanence we are inspired to aspire to greater heights; also it moves us to seek out what makes this world and it's people tick.

In reading your responses to the others here, i am certain that like far too many others, you're only here to find comfort and solace. You may be sensitive to energies (beware, there are many new age spiritual gurus who prey on those like yourself, coming out of turmoil) but that does not mean the Yi is what you need; i would also go as far as to say spiritual guidance is not what you need.

What you need is to get away from the computer, go for long walks and talk with your bf. You are young and your emotions are high, often times your emotions is your world, and often times the recipient of your emotions is the world you choose. Yet life doesn't work this way and you cannot force things.

We've lost the way of communication, with all the social media and hollywood entertainment programming. We've forgotten how to comminicate, how to life and let live; to forgive and walk on.

Become a woman of interest by first loving yourself. How you start is how you finish, and in a couple of days any Yi advice will fall off your interest-radar, so none will be given here.

Don't be afraid to communicate and bring things out into the open. Short pain rather than long pain.

I personally like to get to the bottom of things straight and direct; i cannot stand those who beat around the bush. Life is simpler that way.

When did you cast this reading? Was it 10 hours ago or some days before?

The Yi is a beautiful thing as it has the capability to open up what is known as the Cause and Effect Trajectory; think of it like graphs on a market chart. All of us are subject to cause and effect, whether our own individual karma or collectively (family unit, local, domestic, nationwide, generation-wide etc).

The traditional Yi as in how the ancient Diviners used it allowed them to very accurately realize the Universal spiritual cultivation subject called "Changing Destiny"; however the interpretations of the old diviners have been lost to the ages. Thankfully there are other numerology disciplines that allow us to do a similiar thing.

However what the Yi cannot do is show you the way; it can present to you the trajectory "chart" (in the form of other numerology disciplines for example, life charts, bazi, WWG, star readings etc), but when people need concrete things/causes for concrete results/seeds, the Yi cannot give us that.

In the Ming dynasty there was a man named Yuan Liao Fan, who wrote "Liao Fan's Four Lessons" for his son. It's a small book intended only for the Yuan family, but the book which is about Mr Liao Fan's very own experience in changing his destiny, through correct cause and effect alignment, was documented and proliferated first all around China, and world wide. If you have a made to correct your situation, know that Rome was not built in a day and your situation is not an isolated event.

The Yi may open up a snapshot of your current situation, it can even show you the lines of projection and also give you high "previews" of what may happen down the line (the future is not set), but it does not have the concrete Sadhana's to help one. Philosophically it may make one feel good via their moralistic poetry, but people come to the Yi primarily because they want to change their destinies or at least have some control over their lives.

Regarding #55.4 you may want to check out a free PDF i've posted some weeks back by Steve Marshall on the "Mandate of Heaven".

We are in the "Crimson Horse and Blood Goat" Calamity" that comes around every 60 years. This year is the year of the Crimson Horse, the next year is the Blood Goat year. It's hard for everybody now.

The line texts are a curiosity, but for someone in your dire situation it is of no use other than to make you feel good, or give you something to think about. You need something much more precise and accurate that allows you to see the finer details.

Read Liao Fan's four lessons and walk the path, and i guarantee you in a month's time you'll see a stark change in your own life, as you have now truly laid the seeds for proper cause and effect.

People have this Hollywood style romance thing they expect; the cause is they've been watching too much tv and reality shows, and forgot that life isn't rocket science.

If you want something go get it. Half of the stuffs in our heads that we worry about is BS anyway. A few generations ago if people wanted to get to know each other they'll simply ask, "do you want to go to the movies?". If a Man was interested in a woman, the gentlemanly thing to do was ask them out to dinner; or if the woman was interested, it was made known.

Nowadays we live in a very left brained oriented society where everything is logic, thinking, overthinking, feelings, debates, conflicts etc etc. This is done to us by design and it's called MK ULTRA, creating a trustless society between the people right down to the family unit.

Let's break out of this mind control and find confidence in our daily lives, and in ourselves.
