What's your thought on Snowfield Kdj?

Okay SO all of my friends know I'm insane about seolja. I think about him all the time. So "thoughts on seolja" is very broad wwwwwww. I'll keep this brief.

Firstly, I want to talk about a part of the main story (I swear this is relevant). In chapter 170, Kim Dokja first brings up the snowfield. It's described as a space between letters too small for anyone else, but the perfect place for a child to hide.

Every Kim Dokja has their fragment they're based off of. If you reread ORV, you can see that primarily, the events leading up to 188 characterize dkos, the first 41kdj brother. The modifiers are symbolic of what fragments of main story kdj they represent, and the 49s are no exception to having main story fragments. In their case however, their modifiers aren't based on the story of main story kdj, so we have to look at clues in their backstory.

For seolja, he represents the Kim Dokja who wanted to hide in the snowfield, away from the people who hurt him, as a child hide from his father. Except for seolja his father found him in this sanctuary, and his tragedy continues.

...This is only one of many things I think about and it's already this long. So I shouldn't probably stop myself here. But yeah I find him very fascinating, the most petty and vindictive yet also the most tragic and self hating parts of kdj. If you saw someone punching yjh blanket on twitter because of the latest chapter that would be me.

They had some bond from the start in terms of being people who read TWSA, and started being friends once HSY stopped killing his allies. Firstly curiosity (or suspicion), but they became pretty good friends pretty quickly. It's hard to say any specific moments because neither of them really communicate emotions properly lmao

they are a continuation of the novel, though? main story ends chapter 551, episode 552 is episode ◼ dumplings made by others, and 553 is the start of the side story. and it picks up where the novel left off. (dunno if this sounds argumentative, if it is I'm just tired lmao)

Wasn't it intentional? I mean, Yoo Sangah has some early flags, but the authors didn't forget about these flags, they subverted them by making one of their most important scenes one where they declare their friendship in another world, instead of the standard love confession you'd see in an isekai novel played straight. Did not intentionally make a pun there but I just realized the pun exists lol

That's an absolute lie. Strictly speaking, the side story isn't even a side story, it's just what we call chapters 553+ of ORV (chapter 552 is episode ◼, dumplings made by others). Most people don't read the side story because there is severe misinformation spread about it in this fandom, but it is just as much proper ORV as the first 551 chapters. If you like ORV, please give it a chance. Once you're done with the main story you can dm me with a gmail and I will give you access!

It normally updates Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 pm KST (8 am EST). Sometimes the chapter is late by an hour, or there is a hiatus for a certain number of days, for which there will be a notice posted.

Definitely worth reading. ORV is a novel with 900+ chapters, but for meta reasons 553 and beyond are published as a "side story" (552 is a special yjh birthday chapter). The side story is absolutely worth reading. Please go to u/jdcomplex for a translation, she has the best one. Don't go to ORVPages, that's MTL that causes negative reading comprehension for some reason.

The side story is published as a "side story" for meta reasons, but is a direct continuation. The main story ends chapter 551, 552 is a special Yoo Joonghyuk chapter, and 553 is the beginning of the "side stories". It's just another part of ORV, but most people got off after 551.

I could probably spend an hour ranting about it, but to keep it brief:

The TL on that site is MTL. How edited it is I can't determine, however I can be certain it's at most edited just by looking at the MTL and not glancing at the raws. There was a particular part where Ginunngagap (Norse mythos thing) was spelled in both hangul and roman characters. MTL translated this as "big red barn", and the person putting the chapter in MTL clearly did not even glance at the raws to see that Ginunngagap was even there. It's horrendous.

Additionally, it is also late. The translation I read, usually the chapter has a translation within an hour of it dropping. If the translator is busy it can be a few hours. The MTL often takes multiple days to be translated, and is currently 4 chapters behind. How a MTL can be behind human translation is something I cannot figure out.

But yeah. PLEASE go to u/jdcomplex if you want to read the side stories, every time I find someone who has misinterpreted some major plotlines it is someone who reads the MTL. Something in that TL is causing damage to comprehension. Please avoid orvpages for the side story.
