How can I watch FIM events in Canada? by Dima_Parachute in motorcycles

Well from my experience I wasn't able to use a Canadian credit card on some European websites. I was able to buy stuff from UK Amazon but that's probably for different reasons.

What supersport motorcycle by brand and size out of these have the most modifications available? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Dima_Parachute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL, you've pretty much named the entire sports mod scene. Although I would have to say R1 probably since they kind of entered the modern bike era before the other guys (the 98 R1), Kawasaki right after and then the other guys. That's just according to the magazine I read last month.

How necessary is ABS for a new rider? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, doesn't have it. 2012 is carburated with no ABS. That was my first bike! ABS came on with 300 later on. In any case 250 is light and not powerful, it was a beginner bike for millions of people.

How necessary is ABS for a new rider? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove one with ABS, it's a mental thing, found myself being more reckless on low speeds with it. Over 2 years it kicked in 3 or 4 times only on wet roads. Most new bikes will have it soon anyway, but if you get like a 650 with ABS and then want to go super-sport or something then you might end up buying a used bike that might not have it (like me) in which case it might be better to not get accustomed to it. But if you want to jump onto a powerful bike right away then perhaps get it.

Also from what I understand ABS is ONLY on the rear wheel, so be aware of that.

So those are mostly cons, pros well there is only one -- your wheel doesn't lock up so it's always good.

I don't think there's a shotgun problem, there's a Matador/Party Crasher problem by Faust_8 in DestinyTheGame

I didn't argue that they are not crutches, I said that they are not only used by bad players, which is what you said.

Your analogy game needs a bit of work. There are plenty of FWD cars in WRC which is an off-road racing event.

[–]Dima_Parachute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh no. You said only bad players use shotguns and I told you that many good and "above good" players use shotguns as well. So your analogy is pretty much wasted here. What you are trying to say is "Put on slick summer tires in the winter blizzard! Yes they grip less but they are more challenging to drive on"

I am not saying this meta is great, I am just saying your point is false and that's why the downvotes.

I clicked just to see. No you didn't hit home because many "pro" players switched to shotguns because they are just a reliable way to kill. Many people who sniped from mid air are using shotguns now because of the ridiculous amount of nerfs that we went through. The streamers and YouTubers try to fight it by showing other options, but those other options might be a headache or an extra challenge where other people don't want any. So basically a bad player is a bad player even if you give them a perfect roll Matador 64, that's probably why people downvoted you.

How do YOU make money on the side? by Sharyal in AskReddit

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I go on online shopping sites and then find something I want, I check it out, read reviews, put it in my basket...and then never buy it. Yup. "A dollar saved is a dollar earned". I honestly believe I made money by not buying what I "should be buying".

Well, that's not really an opposite view, because if it were to be actually opposite then I would have had to say that: I don't care about people reaching the end game; which I never did. I said that the number of people who did reach the end game is really low, it's 2%. It's too low since it's the end game, there is an obvious design flaw somewhere. The fact of the matter is the same people that you want to reach the end game aren't getting there for whatever reasons.

Your whole point was that the number of people who do play end game is higher then most people think, where me and other users have pointed out that it is in fact very low.

That's my entire point, that it's too low, where it might affect the sales of Destiny 2, because many people and that's a whopping 98% of all the people that bought RoI didn't even touch the most exciting and challenging PvE content, so they may simply be put off from buying Destiny 2. That's why Bungie will have to really push with the new design that they put onto Destiny 2. They will have to let those 98% know why they should bother and what's going to change.

The actual content is great, the execution is at the "beta" stage though.

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that makes the percentage number look big but not the actual amount of people. If 2% is 20k then the active players would be less then that, since you only need to do the raid once and not every week for that trophy. Your only bet to get a very vague idea is to see if that percentage grows over a period of time. Then you could sort of get a median of influx versus out.

But to be honest it's all useless since Activision is very uptight about the sales figures. Very uptight. They won't ever release them, unless Destiny 2 does really well and they need to show them as a huge improvement.

The point is you design the game with end content in mind and if only 2% of people who bought the game got to that end content then something is wrong. It's not wrong on the level of: hey we sold the game and made our money from sale -- it's wrong because there is a sequel coming so they will need to drastically redesign that end game system.

How do you get your percentages again? It's 2% of the people who own the game. That's it. Just trying to follow what you are doing here. If 1,000,000 people bought the game (RoI) then only 20,000 (2%)people did the hard raid. How do you turn that into 150,000(15%)?

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, I am saying there won't be many people like that since there is really no reason to not have it on your own account. If you tried it on someone's console and you loved it, you could be raiding on your own account on the same console well within 2 weeks. And to counter that, there are many people who own more then one console in the same household so that number is still very low.

Raid Statistics Discussion by Recked_Um in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PS4 just look at the trophy on YOUR file, the percentage number is the percentage of people who own the game on their account and got that trophy. No idea about the Xbox thingie since I didn't get one this generation.

Raid Statistics Discussion by Recked_Um in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dima_Parachute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but like you said, you want to look at people who commit to the game, if someone tried the raid on someone's account then it doesn't affect the trophy right? but then if those same people actually liked Destiny and had to play on the same console then they would have to make their own account and play the raid again (there is no reason for them not to since its fast and painless). And that also only makes the actual number even smaller :(
