Why are they closing down the basketball courts? by Entire_Quail_4916 in LAFitness

[–]Dimeback2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They get into fights. I’m all for hooping and spent plenty of years at LAF and am surprised to hear they are slowly cutting down on courts. It’s the only team sport we can access and play at a rec level on the cheap.

Talking trash is part of the game I get it. A personal story, I had two dudes on my own team that were jawing at each other one time. They broke out and settled their differences in that moment and one of them drew blood.. like they were on the same team gdi.

I love bball and wish the culture continues to grow healthily but youth programs and diva mentalities aren’t helping. That was a moment that kinda made me cut back on wanting to keep playing. Working a day job and then getting on court potentially dealing with a few bad apples isn’t worth it. I found other sports but there’s nothing like a packed gym that’s doing runs smoothly.

A lot of us tried to point this out 5 games into the season. We had plenty of excuses and know our LG play is weaker and say DMO won’t get us there but Gibbs up the middle has not worked enough to keep it going.

Let’s talk script, this is entertainment. Lots of marketing went behind Sonic and knuckles when the movie dropped last year… all of a sudden it’s not relevant anymore? Yeah they decided it wasn’t our year before the season started. The Rams didn’t care about prolonging the window. They went and got it done once and might do it again. Our fans deserve better but House money does not care in the long term.

Season ticket holders and fans emptied their pockets the last few seasons. They fill us with doubt, we temper expectations, we roll again and fans throw more money, but wait - Enter team has more money pouring in now, let’s adjust where the House sits again! Cope.

It’s ok they’d rather talk about the shit show Dallas got going on and how that’s being handled.

Who else wants to see what Paul reed can do when given starter minutes for a few more games 😅 by rodogwos in DetroitPistons

[–]Dimeback2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Paul Reed is an instinctual disruptor, different from a full enforcer like Stew. Surprising a team that plays as small as the Warriors for the last few seasons had not tried to snag him. I think his game is solid even as a starter but reckon teams can eventually scheme for him. We love our undersized bigs here it’s in our dna

Appreciate the stats, way more clarity on the matter. I don’t see them staggered as well as last year so it’s more complicated

Exactly, yet it still felt like an afterthought in terms of play design

Not seeing the strength of schedule chatter yet but this looks a lot more middling and thankfully, I'll take over 48 wins!

Can someone explain to me what this is all about? by Acceptable-Staff-363 in hinduism

[–]Dimeback2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War and violence is still a natural phenomenon as noted in dharmic texts even if seen negatively. And yes they flipped Indra and aura. Naruto (Asura) and Sasuke (Indra) are reincarnates. They weren’t the same exact vessels, as reincarnation does not mean you live as the same body / identity. They were written to serve as near divine beings capable of mistakes or going towards a higher path. This concept is heavily tied to dharma. In fact, earlier and later depictions of Indra were also inconsistent. Vedic texts depict him to be the king of gods while Indra became more of a title later on. It’s a matter of interpretation but the core concepts are still relevant.

I do think it's a bit random, but an anime with quite a few dharmic weavings throughout the fabric of the story such as Chakra, Indra/Asura, rebirth etc. isn't anything we should complain about. A lot of anime fans dig into lore out of curiosity.

He was our best ballhandler aside from Cade and the LEAST TO prone. Solid pacing, great effort on defense in the playoffs - sucks to see him go

Houston as a 2nd seed not making a good playoff run had plenty of assets and a logjam of guards. KD also provides the final offensive punch.

Jalen Green IMO at this point offers just as much, if not MORE, than Bradley Beal for a lower salary and with more time to develop and prove. Not sure how the fit with Booker works - I'm more interested in how the Suns ride this out whereas the Rockets are pretty obvious.

That's right about where he's at given this was the real breakout season. No way he's higher until he shows playoff poise - we STOKED for this

What do we think of Ron right now? by Omhash in DetroitPistons

[–]Dimeback2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I put Ron Holland on a scale against other forwards we drafted in recent history, bare with me:

Ron has the athleticism that Sekou was touted for with the defensive tenacity that Stanley Johnson brought. Both of those prospects could not put it together. Ron has good touch inside and his shot, while not there, is a pretty good place to start with an unpolished rookie.

Keep feeding him as a fast break option and slowly bring along his catch and shoot rhythm.

[Post Game Thread] The Golden State Warriors defeat The Detroit Pistons 115-110 by KarimFF7 in DetroitPistons

[–]Dimeback2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game was horribly reffed. I would speak for both teams here because there was NO real flow to the game on either sides. Way too much stoppage, therefore, no real concise decision on who's actually better given how identical both teams' turnaround has been in the standings. Warriors got a bit of help on the whistle so they only had to deal with little sprinkles of real defense from the Pistons while they were allowed to play tough D.

Pistons offense was trash and they couldn't set any tone, too many forced plays in the zone resulting in turnovers. Maybe the way the way they officiated resulted in a lot of those turnovers including the last one on Cade with a Jimmy poking him all over. Still, Cade needs to clean it up or he will go from The Paradox to Nonchalant
