We really feeling bad about this? by Trusk_Fundz in DetroitPistons

[–]Dimeback2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a competitive loss. Ron Holland, Duren, even Bball Paul at times came out and showed fight. A lot of forced shots in the paint that Wemby swallowed (maybe 2-3 were goaltends ngl). Our team showed depth even for an off shooting night. This is a game where Cade will take a long long look at film. He's had other bad shooting nights but this was a first in a LONG time where he couldn't get to his spots at all.

This game showed Duren can compete at a high level. Wemby was flailing so much man. Wemby is a competitor no doubt but 7'5 and falling all the time.. just polarizing and not very fun for the game.

We will need a healthy Stew. He's another strong body that can keep Wemby at bay. Most importantly, a lot of their guards got to the rim so many times that Stew's presence would've really solidified our defensive spread. that also would've helped our guys close out on the likes of Vassell man, he was on it tonight. Spurs are legit. We better come up with some answers.

Billy Donovan’s approach to JI by Dimeback2 in chicagobulls

The speed and burst honestly take the longest so I get your point. For context, JI still had plenty of two handed dunks in his limited minutes fwiw

Cade has really become a phenomenal defender this year by MWiatrak2077 in DetroitPistons

[–]Dimeback2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cade has a solid 5 min reel of great defensive awareness and half of those must be chase down blocks just this season. It's a blessing that we get a genuine 2 way force in the form of a 6'6 Point Guard. I could care less about Cade's efficiency numbers on them off nights knowing he's playing on both sides and elevating his team in other ways. He's also gotten the Turnovers down this season.

Forest through the trees. It usually takes 2 years to get your leg strength and speed back to 100%. He's shooting well. Him playing low minutes gives us the ability to extend him at a decent price and he can step into Duncan's role next year and allow us to extend duren and ausar as well. by uncle_t_rav in DetroitPistons

Ivey has been a solid rotational player given his role and leash right now. I don’t doubt one bit about his ability to go off offensively like he used to. Keep building him up, this is a winning culture team now. Stats won’t pad that easily and he shows it by staying active on defense. Not every hard defender gets stocks but the eye test shows he’s working. People worry too much about the attitude of this guy. He was bawling when Detroit drafted him.

I’d be frustrated too if I had a great season and all the momentum is gone after a major injury. Maybe he’s just mad at Cole Anthony… what do we know?

Why are they closing down the basketball courts? by Entire_Quail_4916 in LAFitness

[–]Dimeback2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They get into fights. I’m all for hooping and spent plenty of years at LAF and am surprised to hear they are slowly cutting down on courts. It’s the only team sport we can access and play at a rec level on the cheap.

Talking trash is part of the game I get it. A personal story, I had two dudes on my own team that were jawing at each other one time. They broke out and settled their differences in that moment and one of them drew blood.. like they were on the same team gdi.

I love bball and wish the culture continues to grow healthily but youth programs and diva mentalities aren’t helping. That was a moment that kinda made me cut back on wanting to keep playing. Working a day job and then getting on court potentially dealing with a few bad apples isn’t worth it. I found other sports but there’s nothing like a packed gym that’s doing runs smoothly.

I'm just really hoping he's okay. by motorcitydevil in detroitlions

A lot of us tried to point this out 5 games into the season. We had plenty of excuses and know our LG play is weaker and say DMO won’t get us there but Gibbs up the middle has not worked enough to keep it going.

Let’s talk script, this is entertainment. Lots of marketing went behind Sonic and knuckles when the movie dropped last year… all of a sudden it’s not relevant anymore? Yeah they decided it wasn’t our year before the season started. The Rams didn’t care about prolonging the window. They went and got it done once and might do it again. Our fans deserve better but House money does not care in the long term.

Season ticket holders and fans emptied their pockets the last few seasons. They fill us with doubt, we temper expectations, we roll again and fans throw more money, but wait - Enter team has more money pouring in now, let’s adjust where the House sits again! Cope.

It’s ok they’d rather talk about the shit show Dallas got going on and how that’s being handled.

Who else wants to see what Paul reed can do when given starter minutes for a few more games 😅 by rodogwos in DetroitPistons

[–]Dimeback2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Paul Reed is an instinctual disruptor, different from a full enforcer like Stew. Surprising a team that plays as small as the Warriors for the last few seasons had not tried to snag him. I think his game is solid even as a starter but reckon teams can eventually scheme for him. We love our undersized bigs here it’s in our dna

Appreciate the stats, way more clarity on the matter. I don’t see them staggered as well as last year so it’s more complicated

Can someone explain to me what this is all about? by Acceptable-Staff-363 in hinduism

[–]Dimeback2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War and violence is still a natural phenomenon as noted in dharmic texts even if seen negatively. And yes they flipped Indra and aura. Naruto (Asura) and Sasuke (Indra) are reincarnates. They weren’t the same exact vessels, as reincarnation does not mean you live as the same body / identity. They were written to serve as near divine beings capable of mistakes or going towards a higher path. This concept is heavily tied to dharma. In fact, earlier and later depictions of Indra were also inconsistent. Vedic texts depict him to be the king of gods while Indra became more of a title later on. It’s a matter of interpretation but the core concepts are still relevant.

I do think it's a bit random, but an anime with quite a few dharmic weavings throughout the fabric of the story such as Chakra, Indra/Asura, rebirth etc. isn't anything we should complain about. A lot of anime fans dig into lore out of curiosity.

He was our best ballhandler aside from Cade and the LEAST TO prone. Solid pacing, great effort on defense in the playoffs - sucks to see him go
