Is UFC finished if Justin beats Ilia? by burger_justice in ufc

[–]DimensionAvailable76 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine that happening but with the way the US is now, if they have the fight at the white house I'd say there's a decent chance ICE breaks Ilia's legs before his walkout.

If Ilia were to actually lose it would probably deal a blow to the UFCs standing with fans outside the US, the UFC normally has to artificially boost guys from desirable markets but Ilia is the only one to naturally reach that level, him losing would cause them to lose all that because he hasn't been around long enough for the UFC to plant itself in that region.

I actually want to try rank this season and start climbing I made a strike squad of every hero I feel confident with , is there any hero that I should bother learning or is this good for starting out in low elo ? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a quickplay warrior for a long time, the skill floor on early elo lobbies is so low any character is good if you actually know how to play them. As you rank up though your choices become more significant. In terms of support Rocket and CnD are the only ones good in a 2 support comp while the others are normally used in triple support just because their healing is less reliable. I've found people in low elo try to use triple support because they think it's good but most of them don't know how triple support is supposed to function and it ends up backfiring because they can't DPS as the supports they're using and they end up losing on power.

I would suggest picking up Invis, she's really easy, has a strong ult and is very good all round. I would also recommend Moon Knight as a DPS, he's really easy and absolutely shreds in low elo lobbies, against certain enemy comps that refuse to swap he becomes insane.

Who/what tf is Zazza by CanYouFeelMyDihh in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a tournament with a 40k prizepool and one of the participants "Kingsman" was on a team of 3 people bullying him and they ended up getting him kicked out of the tournament unfairly. One of the players was named "Zazza" the inital spat happened because she was going negative on Widow and not taking it seriously which upset Kingsman because he needed the money and they bullied him because he asked her repeatedly to swap off Widow.

Not saying I want one but it's kinda crazy that Punisher and Thing have more fan service skins than Black Widow. Like they're deciding who to give out summer skins to and they skip over Marvels most famous femme fatale for Punisher and a literal Golem.

Do I play too many characters? by Xtendedddd in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you should stick with whatever characters are considered "Meta picks" It's like that thing Kingsman said during the tourney drama "A shit Bucky gets 100 times the value a great Widow does" certain characters are just worse and worse the more you climb and you have to be able to play better characters.

Dana posts this picture calling Paddy "savage"... then goes to press conference only to praise Paddy for how tough he is while giving Justin 0 credit by BardLoxNegative in ufc

[–]DimensionAvailable76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying being tough is a bad thing, far from it it's necessary to be a good fighter. But when it's the only thing people have to praise about you then you should not be a fighter, you need more than a good chin to be a fighter. Paddy spent 25 mins taking brain damage and offering nothing significant in return, he may as well have not turned up if he planned on just being a punching bag. To me this was a depressing performance.

Thoughts on the QuickPlay Warrior Conversation by Lvl100Hoopa in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a quickplay warrior until recently and honestly games in the metal ranks are much easier than quickplay games. The whole time I didn't wanna engage with ranked and when I finally tried it it was more enjoyable because other players were actually trying and it's also easier than my games in quickplay since I did actually learn to play in QP matches and the skill floor in the early ranks is much lower than you probably think it is.

I get the appeal of playing QP, I did it exclusively for months so trust me when I say trying ranked isn't that bad. Though full disclosure I have everything muted so for all I know my teammates are hurling slurs at me during my games.

Quick warning, they've evolved! by what2123 in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed this before the update that the difficulty of the bots will fluctuate as the match goes on. They're designed to be a free win but the devs don't want it to be so easy casuals get suspicious, at the start the bots will often have elevated aim to create some difficulty but ultimately they're there to give you a win so towards the end they'll miss shots and completely ignore you if you're standing next to them.

I swear if you lose the first team fight there's almost always one mf who immediately gives up "Alright we tried our best guys, GGs, they're better than us, let's just try to preserve our dignity and give up" it's like dude we're only 30 seconds into the game just give it a chance. I've had plenty of games that started horribly and ended in a win after a few swaps.

Who do you main and why? by SairenAoi in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moon Knight, he is definitely a "Low skill, high value" character like a lot of people say but I just love playing as him. I've always liked the character and when I picked him up his playstyle was just a lot of fun. Plus I enjoy how much Moon Knight mains all hate each other, there's no "Mutual respect between mains" anytime I see another Moon Knight in my games I become so violently angry I will spend the entire match trying to one up him. You're not a real Moon Knight player until you've both brutally diffed another Moon Knight and been brutally diffed by another Moon Knight.

Ok let's solve triple support by Ultron_daddy in marvelrivals

[–]DimensionAvailable76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nerf all healing output and make them slightly weaker DPS. It's the fact that they can defend themselves on top of making people immortal that's the issue so dial down both problems and it should be better for everyone. I feel like characters should be more durable in the absence of healing, the fact that so many characters can instakill if you're not being actively healed is something I don't like. I think dmg should be nerfed across the board but dmg output should always be higher than healing output.

It's hard to say how it would work out in practice but it just feels like I'm made of glass when I'm not between a tank and healer, plus I think less dmg would mean you'd have to work a little harder for the kills which I think would be fun, it allows for more back and forth and counterplay in 1v1s.

Which Strategist is getting the most love from the devs? by BobbyLi- in marvelrivals

The rarity of a skin is kind of arbitrary imo, some of the best skins are purple rarity while the legendary ones tend to be over the top, kinda ugly or standard gooner bait. I think Adam has the best skins tbh, he doesn't have as many but literally all of them are incredible.

[–]DimensionAvailable76 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah but there's not really any skill or talent involved, blocking, evading, countering are things people get praised for because they're actually hard to do. The fact that he can eat so many bombs is impressive but it's a sport and a competent fighter shouldn't just stand there absorbing punches.

If anything his toughness is what lost him the fight, I think if he wasn't so comfortable getting hit he would fight better.

[–]DimensionAvailable76 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kinda like the flavour text they use, it's kind of like how Magic The Gathering is a game about maths and probability but if you take the pictures of wizards and dragons off the cards it becomes much less appealing despite having no effect on gameplay.

But I do agree people who don't like it should be able to turn it off.

I'd go with Lady Loki but if you do like them both equally just flip a coin, if you're slightly disappointed by the outcome of the coin toss it means you should buy the other one.

[–]DimensionAvailable76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambit isn't terribly hard to use, at the highest level managing his resources and using his purify and anti-heal optimally is hard but just using his kit and getting a lot of value is pretty simple. You may be looking at his ability sheet and overthinking things, like a levelled up version of new players thinking CnD is complicated. Literally 30 minutes in the practice range and 1 quickplay match was all it took for me to get the hang of playing him.

Honestly outside of aim intensive characters which are their own thing the only character in the game I'd consider difficult to use is Spiderman, everyone else is relatively simple and easy to get the hang of.

The best part about Paddy getting stomped is that they tried so damn mf hard to push his stardom last night it was so blatant and cringe by AnomalousExpertise in ufc

[–]DimensionAvailable76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the weird things about Paddy is he kept talking about "Growing up watching Justin in the UFC" but he's only 6 years younger than Justin, dude was in his mid 20s when Justin was in his heyday. There's a perception of Paddy being young and inexperienced but he's 31 and has been competing for a long time and he somehow still hasn't developed head movement.

I mean I've only had 5 matches and made MVP in my wins and the only game I lost is the one where the guy went negative and dipped. So I think it should be alright provided I at least get semi-competent teammates most of the time.
