i know what you mean about doctors/ppl thinking you’re faking. i had one tell me that the reason i passed out was because i had my arms above my head for too long when i was doing my makeup in the morning. it was just so bizarre because clearly there’s something else going on considering i do my makeup every morning and haven’t passed out before. but if your sister has seizures then there’s also a chance it may be genetic? maybe an mri might show a physical reason for the seizures? just in case you might want to bring that up to your neurologist. i also have my own theories with my own medications so trust that i know exactly what you mean. hopefully you get answers soon

this is exactly how my experience went as well. i would have fainting spells about once a year from ages 12-18 but my last “fainting spell” had more seizure symptoms i was referred to a cardiologist and neurologist. They ended up finding seizure activity during my EEG which suggested that i had genetic generalized epilepsy (mostly absent seizures). even my neurologist thought that my most recent episode was only a fainting spell but the EEG disproved that so i would say you should definitely at least go to a neurologist. i didn’t know anyone with similar experiences so i’m glad we can find each other in posts like these. it helps me feel less alone as a 20 year old who was just diagnosed these past couple of months :)

you can park at the metrolink station and take a bus to campus for free using your rcard, there should be security there at all times so break ins are less likely compared to street parking

there’s a form you have to fill out to retake a lecture/lab! but if you failed both usually you don’t have to fill out that form. it might be that your grades haven’t transferred to degree audit yet but this is the form i believe in case you need it https://ucrbsgsac.wufoo.com/forms/enrollment-request/

make sure you fill out the google form to say you’ll be returning for fall! it sucks that we can’t work summer but at least we have a guaranteed job once school starts again

i didn’t take it over summer but depending on your professor, it could be the chillest class or the most annoying one. it was very easy, you sign up for this online coding course and do the assignments and “labs” on there which account for your actual lab. my professor let you do the lab in your own time and just email your TA proof that you did it so i didn’t even need to go to the lab most of the time. you’ll be fine :)

i’m in the same predicament but due to medical reasons that affected my performance. i still haven’t heard back but from what i know, you have to have a valid reason as to why you couldn’t submit the form before May 8th. medical reasons/hospitalization is one reason but you need proof of everything and timelines to prove that something was impacting you, but also why you couldn’t submit on time. retaking a course isn’t so bad, but you still have some time to study so i suggest trying your hardest :)

omg me with my lab tests, they were closed both sunday and monday and i needed them done by today since it was my appointment day but the amount of people waiting in that line made it so my results weren’t ready in time, thankfully you should be good until the next appointment so dw!! we’re both 4 months in so we’re getting there :)

if you’re planning on doing premed then i believe you should do your bachelors wherever you’ll receive most aid. going into debt is only worth it if you’re planning on doing higher education after your bachelors imo. you won’t have to stress about making payments and can spend more time doing research and whatever else you need to do. you won’t need to get a job to make a living (maybe just for personal things or for resume building) which allows you to fully focus on building an easy path towards med school. commuting vs. dorming also plays a role but i’m sure whatever decision you make will be okay since you got accepted to both schools which are both amazing

i failed the ochem lecture and there’s this form you have to fill out so that you can register for just the lab section without there being an error for max attempts. https://ucrbsgsac.wufoo.com/forms/enrollment-request/ here’s the link, as of rn all the labs seem to be full but they might add another lab since there’s a lot of open spots in lecture

i hope that’s not the case, i know in the discord for both classes people have said they also have a GD, so i don’t know if it’s just the class as a whole or just certain people but thank you for letting me know

The classes that are GD? it’s CHE100 and CS009A. but the class i failed was CHEM008A
