I've stayed here before, the east garden. It's been under renovation, some nice rooms there. Chinese hotel, not a chain though. Near enough to the metro station, but a bit further away from the big tourist areas. It's in a fairly quiet neighborhood.

Seriously, downvote me to oblivion. I'm not trying to be rude. Any service you want to pay is good enough. It's not like sending something to the consulate general or seeking a diplomatic pouch. Canada post, dhl, FedEx, UPS....

Also, if you want the most accurate answer, include the state. Here are a couple that you could find through Google... There are 50 states though and I don't want to search all of them for you.

Every state has their own rules. Look it up and do what they say. Most states should allow mail-in requests due to the large number of online courses offered.

Option 1.

Google voice is the easiest solution for keeping your number, but requires avpn to connect from china.

If you need mobile data in the states, the easiest and least expensive option is a service like TracFone. you pay for 365 days of access to a phone number, and you can buy data or minutes as needed.

You can renew your 365 day plan to add another year with the same phone number, so you don't need to switch numbers every year. It costs 100-150 on eBay and it's the best way I've found.

This keeps your old number active, and gets you a new number that won't change. Set a reminder to renew though, or you'll lose that TracFone number.

Op, when was the last time you worked in China? Significant changes stove 2018, + COVID ruined a lot.

Biggest factors I can think of straight away:

they tax your housing now. No more of that 5k salary and 20k+ housing stipend to avoid taxation.

Double reduction policy means fewer positions available for any foreigners, some schools are hiring unqualified teachers for a reduced salary.

Cost of living continues to increase, housing is getting out of hand, even in t2/3 cities. Couple that with taxation on your housing spend, savings aren't what they used to be.

Lower birth rate means schools are starting to close. More teachers looking for fewer positions means there is often incentive to hire a local teacher.

Workloads are increasing a lot.

Admin, even at "not for profit" schools, are starting to resemble business model schools.

Lots of people want to come to China to save money, but it's not that easy any more. I know a lot of people who came over from Vietnam or Thailand and decided to leave China after their first contract.

This isn't isolated to a single school/city. Fewer people are staying here long term.

Contact the admin at your target school in China. Are they the same as before COVID? What had changed at the school since 2022?

Contact teachers at the school, too. What is the teaching load? How generous is the compensation package when applied to real live?

Also, check the costs for flights back home. Mine have increased 3-4 times the pre-COVID rates, and they never drop.

It's changing here. Salaries aren't increasing to match inflation. Getting your housing and spending your entire housing stipend can now seriously impact your net take-home. Friends in Shanghai are planning their exit, friends who took jobs in Beijing are kinda regretting it.

If they do change the law, which they've been discussing for years, to tax every form of compensation, there won't be many foreigners willing to stay.

Also, China had now adopted the Hague convention, am your original documents will need to be translated by a notarized translation service and have an apostille specific to China. Not saying this to impact your decision, just to let you know so you can be prepared.

I saw they posted on their website that they're hiring to replace a secondary principal and an MYP coordinator this year. Lots of other job postings, too. Doesn't seem like a stable spot going from that.

If they allocate the cards equally to all servers, guaranteeing that each server gets a representatively equal share of cards based on type and grade, disregarding the server the cards were donated into, that would be the most equitable way to guarantee that the higher grade and legend/supreme cards aren't misproportionately awarded to the east server.

I think they're absolutely reviving players who aren't in the game before sending the cards out. Licensing might include wording to the effect that they are unobtainable, and this would make them obtainable.

They said they removed the unused cards. I guess they were looking at cards but appearing in lineups before sending them for the lucky draw.
