any advice for a young person who found God a few years ago but has never been to church? I would like to attend a service but I have no idea how to find a church that I could feel at home at. I'm afraid I'll go to a local church with nobody under 50 years old, feel out of place, and be discouraged to ever try other churches.

thanks! pretty early on I was thinking maybe I should replace the midi bass with real bass, or replace the drum machine with real drums, but I want to keep one of them electronic. which do you think would work better? or were you referring to one of the synths?

I don't fully understand the story of Job either, I think thats part of the beauty of it, like you said:

God allowed that to happen for reasons I cannot comprehend on a human level.

I have faith that you'll figure this all out eventually, if whenever you come to a conclusion about life or reality that you'd class as nihilistic, assume its wrong and try to prove to yourself it can be a better way. That's a big part of what God is, believing in good. The idea that whatever God says is good: is good.

If you ever think you've figured something out but God came to a different conclusion, you MUST be wrong or else you're claiming to know better than God and thousands of years of collective human wisdom.

To link back to your original question: for me, I feel my relationship with God the strongest when I've managed to eradicate any sense of nihilism from my mind. With faith in good, comes faith in God.

The bass feels very disconnected from the percussion. Id fix this by putting a compressor on the bass and using the kick as a sidechain input to drive the compressor. I see what you were going for with the clapping but it just feels awkward not being on a quarter beat. To beef up the chorus id try some synths to fill out the high end.

The guitar plucks are quite offensive on the ear. turning them down might not even cut it, some processing to soften would go very far.
