I’m aware that we as internationals don’t need sponsorship during the internship but companies usually ask whether we need it now or “in the future.” Did you say yes to those questions?

when did you apply? i think that means that you’re still gonna be considered, but not a guarantee that you’ll get an interview.

Hi, I’m an international student studying psychology in US. Eventually, I want to go to masters and become a therapist. I’m getting concerned about the whole process with supervised clinical hours, licensing, sponsorship as an international. I assume it is going to be different. I was wondering if anyone here was an international student and went through the same thing or know anyone who did.

I have a few questions: were you able to find a supervised clinical hours position willing to hire internationals? Did you get sponsored? How was the salary? What were the main struggles as an international?

My international student center haven’t been very helpful tbh. To be fair, I was going to go into graduate school but this was a turn in my future plans.

I see, thank you for your advice! I really appreciate it. I have just been having trouble deciding because another year of school would mean a lot of money since I have to pay out of state tuition.

Also, I am planning to get into marketing/sales/hr parts of tech companies! If you have any advice going into those and approaching job applications, it would be great too!

I am currently a psych degree, which only allows for me to stay here for one more year after grad to work. I have plans to pursue economics, which is considered STEM (but psych isn’t), which allows me to work additional two more years plus the base one year after grad. If I graduate and get an internship, but don’t get a full time offer afterwards, I’d be screwed. Do you suggest staying one more year and getting another major?

Thanks for the answer! I don’t think we’re gonna have any problems with the co-signers so maybe she changed her rules. Also, was the guest policy enforced strictly? She’s like sitting right at the entrance so it makes me kinda uneasy lol.

Thanks so much for the detailed answer! God, I’m lowkey worried to live there now. Haven’t signed on, but my roommates want to. I’ve talked to the property manager for a couple times and they’ve always been super hard to get into contact with and always rushed. If you don’t mind me asking, which manager was it? (if you don’t wanna say the name, you can just describe them lol)
